Have a Tweet Christmas Robins and snowflakes on tartan card Hi Craft addicts! I hope you had a great weekend! Here is a fun card I made using stamps... How I made this project:- This is a C6 white linen effect card which I bought ages ago from Craft Creations but you can of course use any type of base card! I cut a panel of this red tartan paper (from Hunkydory's 8" paper pad collection) to fit the front of the card leaving a border all around it and attached it using PVA glue. I then used a stamping platform (again there are so many brands around - from Stamps by Me Eureka 101 to Rare Earth's Load n Fold.  I arranged the two Robins stamps opposite each other (from a Woodward collection), the two Holly leaves and then the Have a tweet Christmas sentiment and stamped them all on to some white stamping card (This is Hunkydory's Ink Me) using Gina K's Black Amalgam ink. I coloured the Robins in using two shades of Brown alcohol markers (from H...

On your Special day... bubbles and lace 7x5in card. Hi Craft addicts! Well it is Tessellating Tuesday so I have made this card using dies from Tattered Lace and Creative Expressions.... How I made this card:- I must admit that I had used the Bubbles/Balloons die before (it is from Lisa Horton's Broken Tiles Collection by Creative Expressions and is called Circular Dreams.. I cut them out a couple of times in black pearlescent linen effect card using both of them at the same time (taping them together to make sure they didn't cross over). I then stuck them both to some white card using PVA glue and coloured a few of the spaces in using a blue alcohol marker. You can keep the waste for other projects if you like... I used PVA glue to attach them in opposite corners of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card leaving a space in between them. I took a scrap piece of paper (about 3.5" x 2.5" and coloured it in using Cosmic Shimmer's Opal Polishes (Par...

Welcome to the world New Baby square card -  Day 219 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a New Baby card which is made using a Tattered Lace die, some Zig Clear Color pens and a Kanban sentiment. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the Rock a Bye baby die (from Tattered Lace) out of white card and then coloured it in using both water colour paints (what was left on my palette watered down) and also Zig Clean Color Pens which I brushed on to my glass mat and used a water brush to add detail to the die cut. Once I was happy with the colouring, I let it dry and then stuck it to a circle of black card(Tattered Lace Torn Edges) using Midas Touch Sticky dots. I then attached it a panel of light green and white checked card (either Kanban or Hunkydory) which I then edged in green and black alcohol marker so it makes it look like it is another layer. I used a wet glue to attach it to the left hand corner. I had some flower/leaves stamps (I...

Congratulations on your baby - elephants and mobile C5 card -  Day 204 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I had to make a couple of New Baby cards and this is one of them using Tonic Studios dies and Ruth Watkins papers. How I made this card:- I have had these dies from Tonic Studios for ages and thought I would use them to make the main focal points of this card. I cut out the mobile and the 2 elephants using the double sided cardstock from Kanban. I then cut out the Bunny strip from a 12" specialised paper from Ruth Watkins (I bought it some time ago from Craft Creations so am not sure if it is still available). The C5 brown card was from Hunkydory's Adorable Scorable range and I stuck the Bunny strip to the top, cut it to fit and then added the remaining piece to the bottom. I then stuck the larger elephant to just above the border on the right hand side and then the smaller one on the left hand side. I used foam pads under their ears so they look ...

You don't have to be perfect... girl with flowers 7x5in card - Day 193 of my 365 day challenge

You don't have to be perfect... girl with flowers 7x5in card -  Day 193 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card (day 193 of my 365 day challenge) is a hand coloured and hand painted cute card that I have made using Tattered Lace dies and water colours. How I made this card:- I used a panel of watercolour card and painted it using orange, yellow, green, blue and purple Tattered Angels Color Wash paints in a rainbow pattern and left it to dry. Once it was, I trimmed  it so that it measured 100x145mm and glued it to the front of a 7x5in white card. I then cut out the cute little girl, the rabbit, flowers and leaves from various Tattered Lace dies and coloured them all in using a variety of alcohol markers - blues, pinks, yellows, oranges and green for the flowers and leaves - some of them were attached so snipped them into smaller parts so that I would be able to fill the basket. I then coloured the girl in, again using alcohol markers (this time Or...

Dinosaur themed MDF wall hanging - Day 181 of my 365 day challenge

Dinosaur themed MDF wall hanging -  Day 181 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have had real fun making this project - using Hobbycraft stamps and a large MDF wall hanging. How I made this project:- I first of all covered both the front and back of the wall hanging (approximately 32cm) in white card by tracing around it (marking each outline front and back). I then coloured a landscape scene using Tattered Angels Color Wash paints (blues  and greens) - I added some white to represent clouds and let it dry. Whilst that was happening, I stamped out a lot of the dinosaur stamps (from Hobby Art Stamps) and coloured them in using green alcohol markers etc. I used a tree silhouette (from Stamps by Me) and stamped it towards the centre of the wall hanging using Versafine Onyx Black ink and then stamped a couple of the volcanoes again using the Versafine ink. I then cut out all of the dinosaurs, trying to leave an equal white border around them all and st...

Happy birthday flowers embossed resist technique square card - Day 171 of my 365 day challenge

Happy birthday flowers and embossed resist technique square card  Day 171 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for my 365 day challenge is using the embossed/resist technique which I am coming to really like doing. How I made this card:- As you can see from the pic, this is a linen effect card and so I used the Floral Favourites flower part of the Mask to edge this square card - I had to move it around every so often as I didn't want to use the straight part of the mask. I coloured it in using Parrot Altenew Ink as it is lovely and bright. I then embossed the flowers and leaves from the Floral Favourites stamps set using Versamagic ink on to some white stamping card and heat embossed them with Seafoam White embossing powder. I then coloured the whole panel with a mix of purple, greens, and blues Tim Holtz Distress inks. I tried to blend them as much as possible so each colour change was seamless. I then used a piece of kitchen roll to remove a...

Thanks -  a fun dog on tree background 6in card -  Day 164 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card for day 164 of my 365 day challenge is a fun card using a mix of Hunkydory and Craftwork Cards (along with some foil and self adhesive paper). How I made this card:- Hunkydory had produced some pre cut 6" Adorable Scorable cards and so I thought I would use one for this project. I first of all added some medium width ultra strong red liner tape to the bottom edge leaving about 1/4" at the bottom and then added some teal/turquoise foil on top of it, burnished it and then repeated the process on the right hand side. I had previously coloured (using distress inks) this topper from Craftwork Cards but didn't really like the card I made so stuck it to some purple/lilac self-adhesive paper (from DoCrafts) with some Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue. I then removed the backing sheet of the paper and stuck it directly to the top left hand side of the car...
