Have a great day! silhouette man and child on hand coloured background A6 card
Hi Craft addicts!
Hope you all had a brilliant weekend and today has been good so far! I had great fun making the background for this and felt really good when I managed to make my own printable papers from it!
How I made the card:-
- I first of all used various shades of blue (and one green) Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to design an abstract floral pattern, blending them as I went with my finger as they dry quite quickly.
- I also used a paintbrush to smooth any rough parts of the design.
- I then took a photo of it, cropped it so it was a rectangle and dragged it into My Craft Studio Elite (a software programme from Tattered Lace or you could used Craft Artist if you still have it). I played around with it and decided not to change anything, saved it as both a JPEG and PGN format and printed it out..
- I then trimmed the original panel so it measured approx 4" x 3", edged it with a Bright Blue alcohol marker and then attached it to a piece of the printed background paper - which as you can see is slightly more muted in colour.
- I cut out the man and child die-cut out in black card and stuck it to the front of the panel using PVA glue, having trimmed the string bits from it first.
- Once that was done, I placed the whole thing on to a slightly larger panel of black card and stuck the entire image on to the front of a top fold A6 card again with PVA Glue.
- I stamped the Have a Great Day sentiment on to a scrap of blue card using Versamark (or any sticky ink) and covered it with white embossing powder and heat set it - make sure you use an anti static pad or something like it to remove any residue beforehand.
- I placed it at a jaunty angle in the top left hand corner with foam pads and finally added 5 drops of Black Nuvo drops to the bottom right hand corner to balance things out..
