With Love Wolf and moon fancy shaped card
Hi Craft Addicts
With Love - Wolf Card Challenge No. 10 - 7" x 10" card
Well, here it is - the last card made from the Moonlight (Wolf) Cardmaking kit from Creative Crafting World using the fantastic artwork of renowned wildlife artist, Pollyanna Pickering.
This time, I have used one of CCW's own 7" x 10" Elegant frame card (Lily) (250gsm) to make it with the final topper and backing paper from the kit. This card is made of up of 3 bits (all pre-scored for you) and makes a fancy easel type card when standing up. You have to take out the die-cut parts of the header of course!
To start the card, I stuck the topper on to a black scalloped edged square frame (this one is a Spellbinders Lacey Square) and then added a white deckle edged frame in Centura Pearl card on to it using thin Stix 2 foam pads. I then used the Tonic Studios Antique Rose Crystal drops around the frame to give more texture and whilst that dried I started on the next bit..
Once I had decided on the colour theme (which was to be monochrome), I used the remaining strip of the black and white "snowflake" backing paper - it was 17cm x 7cm (approx) and stuck it to the centre of the front of the card and then used some of the We R Memory Keepers "keystone" black and white Washi Tape which I have used in previous cards to added an additional border at the top and bottom.
I then used a piece of the Craftwork Card's black & white gingham paper from the "Suits You Sir" mini paper pad and die cut it using a deckle edged die (think it was a Tonic Studios one) that was 10cm square. I then found 2 more pieces of cream and black card - this time 14cm square - one a trellis design and the other a scalloped edge solid design and matt and layered them and glued them all together using the Collall All Purpose Glue as it gave me some "wiggle" time to get them just in the right place.
After they had all dried properly, I placed the topper on to it (again at an angle) - I just can't do straight at the moment!! and stuck the whole thing on to the front of the card. As it was needing a bit of colour at this time (I know I changed my mind about it being just black and white), I found a "With Love" strip that I had got from Craft Creations in shades of blue and thought it was just right to inject the colour without being too over the top and stuck it just under the main topper. I also added some small drops of Tonic Studios Crystal drops in black and navy.
And that is the front of the card and on to the inside of it... as it is an easel type card, I first added a narrow strip of the matching black and white paper to where I wanted the "stopper" to be and glued it to the back of the front of the card if that makes sense? I then found a round "With Love" sentiment from HunkyDory and added a double lot of Stix2 foam pads to give it some height and placed it in the centre of the strip so that it acts as a stop for the other part of the card.
So that is card number 10 finished - not bad to have made a selection of totally different cards from the one card making kit "Moonlight" from Creative Crafting World's World Wildlife series which uses the fantastic images from Pollyanna Pickering.
Since using this kit, I do have a couple of comments which I hope will come across as positive - first of all, I do feel that it needs more that 2 pieces of black card and the sentiments are sometimes a bit hard to read on the backgrounds they are placed on but these are only my thoughts.
I hope you have enjoyed these past few blogs and hope you will continue (if you have done) to read them - am now wondering what my next one will be on - have to keep up the momentum now I have started writing them regularly.
