Snow Leopard - Pollyanna Pickering...DL Card
Snow Leopard - image by Pollyanna Pickering DL Card - No message on front
Hi Craft addicts!
It's been a couple of days since my last post and I thought I better rectify that! Today's card is a lovely image of a Snow Leopard which was drawn by the wonderful wildlife artist Pollyanna Pickering from the Snow and Ice papercrafting kit and the accompanying DVD from Creative Crafting World.
This is a DL card and is 300gsm linen card and to make it, I did the following..first of all I added some thin red liner tape (Ultra Strong) about inch from both the top and bottom making sure that the lines were straight! I did this along both front and back of the card..
I then removed the top part of the tape on the top line and spread some silver gilding flakes (the one I have is the Magical Metallic pot from My Craft Studio) and rubbed it in until I was sure that all the tape had been covered - I then used the "scourer" to remove any excess flakes and then placed them back in the pot. I then repeated the above on the lower line. One word of warning - these flakes get everywhere especially if there is a draught - so PLEASE make sure you close the lid whilst doing this and do it over some scrap paper....
Once this was done, I then matted the snow leopard topper on to some black card (this came with the card kit and is just right for it as it has the same photo corner edges) with a tape pen and then glued it on to the centre of the card (so there was an equal distance between the top and bottom).
I am not sure where the bow tie came from, but I glued it together using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue and placed it just under the topper. I then added the black "dazzler" to it to give it some depth. Once I was happy with the way it looked, I then added some Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal drops along the silver borders again to add some dimension to it.
As the front of the card has been left blank (it can be added if needed), I have designed 2 different ones using the images from the DVD and other digikits from CAP2 from Serif - the first one which is actually in the card has "I believe in YOU" stamped in the centre of it - this stamp is from the "Take Flight" series from Inkydoodles.
The second one which says "May all your dreams come true" which I think comes from a set from Crafter's Companion but could be wrong!
I have stamped both of these using Memento Tuxedo Black dye based ink.
