Smile - Abstract tulips DL card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!     

Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one using a mix of Stamps by Me dies and stamps.

  • I cut out the film strip die (from the Smile for the Camera Stamps by Me collection) in green linen effect card (both American Crafts and Crafter's Companion - amongst others do this type of card).
  • I then attached it to some of Lynda Chapman's Black card with PVA glue and trimmed it to fit.
  • Using PVA glue, I stuck it to the middle of a white DL card.
  • The tulips are created using the Abstract Tulips stencils and die set from Stamps by Me and I followed the instructions using the same purple colour (Tim Holtz's Dusty Concord Distress Oxide ink) for the flowers and the Safari Green Nuvo Hybrid inks for the leaves and stems.
  • I cut it out and attached it to the film strip with foam pads (strips) to give it some height.
  • I stamped the Smile stamp from the Foliage banners set again from Stamps by Me using Gina K Obsidian Black ink, cut it out and stuck it to a scrap of green card and attached that to some black card.
  • I fussy cut around that and then added a double layer of foam pads so it could be placed on top of the stems.

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Congratulations stamp and some patterned paper. I must admit i can't remember who produced this patterned paper but think it is Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World.. I rounded the corners of a 5" white square card and thought I would use it as a tent fold (that is with the fold at the top). I then cut out a piece of this foliage patterned paper so that there was a narrow border left when I placed it on the front of the card. Instead of adding a layer of black card behind it, I edged it with a Black alcohol marker and stuck it on using a tape runner pen - so many companies now do them or you could used  a light layer of PVA glue. I then cut a narrow panel (about 2") of the same paper so that it fitted the card and then stuck it to a slightly wider panel of Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock and stuck that to the card slightly left of the card front. Happy Birthday Bee card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is a bright and cheerful one with a bee theme and I hope you will read more as to how it was made! I first of all decided which of the various beautiful designs I wanted to use from the latest Bumblebee Dance paper collection from Creative Crafting World's Paper Boutique range. After a while, I chose the Bee circle topper and the bee background paper to use as i think they are so colourful. Using the topper as a template, I chose a Tattered Lace Scalloped edge die and cut out a circle slightly larger than the topper and attached it using PVA glue. I then used the Rectangle part of the Standalone Dies from Time for Tea and cut it out twice, once in Lynda Chapman's Black card and another one using the Bee paper from the Paper Boutique collection. Merry Christmas to all circle Christmas Card - 365 day challenge

  Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this one made totally from scratch. I used the largest circle (about 4") Petit Picot edge die from Spellbinders and cut out two pieces of card - the front is Paper Dienamic Metallink A4 card and the back part is Sheena Douglass A4 white willow card. I scored the back part about 3/4" towards the top and married the two pieces together and added some red liner tape, removed the carrier sheet and stuck them to each other. The black frame is cut out of Lynda Chapman's Black card using the Inverted Scallop die from Crafter's Companion Gemini collection and I stuck it to the front of the card using a dotty pen as it allows the glue to only go on places it needs to. I had a scrap piece of red cardstock and I cut the oval bauble (from Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Festive Collection Sparkle Baubles set) and then used silver mirror card to cut out the top part.
