Happy Birthday with butterflies on an ombre background Kraft card - day 217 of my 365 day challenge

Happy Birthday with butterflies on an ombre background Kraft card - Day 217 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

So today's card is a simple but effective birthday card using a Tattered Lace die and an ombre background which I coloured myself.

How I made this card:-

  • I cut out the Happy birthday sentiment from some black card (it is a Tattered Lace die).
  • I then measured a piece of cream linen effect cardstock so that it was slightly smaller than the 135mm Kraft card (120mm) and blended Red, Dark Red, some black, Yellow and Orange so that the was an Ombre effect that looked like a sunset - I really like the way the linen effect gives it a different texture.
  • Once it was dry, I stuck it on to a slightly larger piece of white card (about 125mm) and then attached them both to the 135mm Kraft card.
  • I then used some Midas Touch sticky dots to attach the Butterfly sentiment to the front of the card, at a slight angle so it fitted the card.
  • I used some Morning Dew Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios on parts of the butterflies' wings and let it dry.
  • Once it was, I cut a piece of white paper to fit the inside of the card and attached it with a tape pen so that it didn't "cockle".

And there you are a card that is very easy to make and is bright and cheerful which I hope would cheer anyone up!
