Let's celebrate! Sunflower on hand coloured background A5 shaped card - Day 226 of my 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's card for day 226 of my 365 day challenge is one using Tattered Lace dies and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks....
How I made this card:-
- I coloured the background in using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (the 1st time I have used them) - They are brilliant to blend but still have lots to learn as to what I can do with them!!
- Whilst it dried (I left it overnight), I cut out the Sunflower Tattered Lace die twice, once in yellow and once in green.
- I used orange and a darker yellow alcohol markers to add some shading to the flower part of it and then snipped it to just have the head of the flower.
- I then used PVA glue to attach it to the green flower making sure it was in the right place - this saved me colouring in both of the die-cuts!
- I edged the background in black and stuck the flower to the middle of the background (I did in fact colour more of the card and will use that in another project).
- I then cut out the Let's celebrate sentiment out using a Tattered Lace die in white card and stuck it to some gold Mirri Card using Midas Touch Sticky Dots (as I have said before these are great for more detailed die-cuts but you could also used adhesive sheets).
- I trimmed the panel to fit and edged it in black alcohol marker.
- I used the same Distress Oxide inks (to be honest what was left on the sponge daubers) to colour the inside edge of the card and a section of the scalloped front edge.
- Using foam pads I added the sentiment to the bottom of the card, making sure that the foam pads didn't go over the edge which would have made it stick to the inside!
