Happy Birthday - Unicorn in silhouette on painted background 7x5in card - Day 212 of my 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Another hot day and the sun is shining and I have been playing with my Kuretake water colour paints to create the background that the Unicorn is on. Here is how I made it....
- I used one of the pre cut oval shape white mat and layer (gold) from Hunkydory for the topper and painted the background directly on to it. I used various blue shades in the Kuretake water colour box (the green one) and blended them until I was happy with the shading and left it to dry.
- Whilst it was drying, I cut out the Unicorn's head (from Tattered Lace) in Lynda Chapman's black card.
- I then stuck it on to the background using a wet glue as it gave me a bit of wiggle time.
- I used the white paint from the Kuretake set to add the stars (and the eye) - I would have used a Gel pen but found it had dried out!
- I embossed/scored 2 lines at the top and bottom of the 7x5in white card using my Tattered Lace mini score board and cut 2 pieces of Hunkydory's striped paper that fit inside the space - it is double sided so I just cut a smaller strip for the banner from the same piece of paper and trimmed both of them once I had stuck them down.
- Finally, I added the Hunkydory sentiment Happy Birthday to the bottom of the card with foam pads.
And there you are a card that is very easy to make and hopefully would make a great card for you to send to someone who likes Unicorns!
