Something beautiful...horizon landscape at sunset 7x5in card
Hi Craft addicts!
I was really pleased with how this card turned out and it was fairly simply to do too using just stamps and some inks.
How I made this card:-
- I created the sunrise/sunset background paper using Orange, Yellow and Red dye based and Distress Inks (from Tim Holtz, Prism or Rare Earth). I tried to blend them in so that it looked as if the sunrise or sunset was just happening. I used white stamping card for this part which measured 3" x 4.5"
- Once I was happy with it, I edged it with a black alcohol marker so I didn't have to add another layer to the card.
- I then stamped the trees stamp (from Rare Earth) on to the bottom half of the background using Gina K Jet Black ink (as it takes both watercolour and solvent based products).
- To colour the trees in, I used a couple of green alcohol markers ( you could also use water colour paints too).
- I found the flock of birds stamp in another of my collection (I think it is a Pretty Quick one) and stamped it a couple of times with the same Black ink.
- The birds towards the right of the trees were smudges to be honest but they do look like birds in the distance :)
- I then stamped the moon in the top right hand corner off the edge of the paper so you can only see a part of it.
- I used a lovely sentiment stamp (I think it is from Stamps by Me but could be wrong) and stamped it above the trees, using the same ink as before.
- I used Collall All Purpose Glue to stick the whole panel on to the front of a 7" x 5" side fold white card.
- White 7" x 5" side fold card - available from various suppliers such as Toni Darroch's Stamp by Me or Lynda Chapman's World of Paper
- Rural landscape stamp set from Rare Earth
- Landscape images from Pretty Quick
- Inspiring sentiment from Stamps by Me I think
- White stamping card - Ink Me from Hunkydory, Rare Earth's Own brand or Lynda Chapman's World of Paper work really well
- Black and Green alcohol markers
- Orange, Yellow and Red Distress, Rare Earth or Prism dye-based inks
- Jet Black Gina K ink pad
- Collall All Purpose glue
