You Make me smile...birds and flowers 7x5in black pearlescent card
Hi Craft addicts!
Well the internet is actually behaving itself (fingers crossed) so can post this today! I used Tim Holtz Distress Crayons (of course) to make the background and had fun using it to create this card - so if you want to find out how I made it, read on....
How I made this card:-
- To make the background, I used a 7" x 5" piece of transparent Yupo Paper from Tim Holtz and Ranger (it is synthetic paper but is recyclable - you can't tear it however and does need to be cut).
- I first of all used Spun Sugar Tim Holtz Distress Crayons to create some "squiggles" and blended them in using my finger. I then added some Picked Raspberry to give the flowers some detail and dimension.
- I did use a fine paintbrush to blend them all a bit more. I then added some Mustard Seed Distress crayon in between them, blending them in again and then created some stalks with Twisted Citron.
- I trimmed it down to about 3.75" x 5.75" and edged it with a black alcohol marker.
- I took a piece of Raspberry pink paper (from Hunkydory's Paper Families 8" paper pad and stuck the flower panel on to it and instead of using a die to create a border, I cut it in a wavy line pattern to add a bit of difference.
- I attached it to the front of a 7" x 5" Black pearlescent card (from Create & Craft's Core Collection) using Glue it glue from Pinflair.
- I cut out the Birds and Blossom die from Tattered Lace in Black card and stuck it to the top half of the main topper using the same PVA glue.
- I stamped out the You Make me smile sentiment (from Toni Darroch's Stamps by Me) directly on to the card using Gina K Obsidian black ink.
- 7" x 5" Black pearlescent card and envelope (from Create & Craft's Core Collection)
- Tattered Lace Bird and Blossom die
- You make me smile sentiment stamp collection from Stamps by Me range by Toni Darroch
- Yupo paper - white or translucent
- Black cardstock - Lynda Chapman's World of Paper is great
- Pink paper pad from Hunkydory's Colour Families 8" paper pad
- Tim Holtz Distress Crayons - Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed
- Obsidian Black Gina K ink pad
- Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue or Pinflair Glue it glue
