Create your imagination - Oriental tree shaped card - Day 243 of my 366 day challenge

Create your imagination - Oriental tree shaped card -
Day 243 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft Addicts!

Today's card is part of a series I am going to be launching on my website in the next couple of days. I have got to design these cards and gifts using both Tattered Lace images that can be found on one of their USB's which are used in conjunction with the Brother ScanNCut and Pinflair's Background Artist series.

Create your imagination - Oriental tree shaped card

To make the topper:-

  • I first of all cut out the white doily shape using a Sue Wilson (Creative Expressions) die and backed it on to some Lynda Chapman's Black card and cut round it following the shape loosely.
  • I then cut out a scalloped circle and inked it using some Generation INX ink pads, Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Altenew inks in "Pink", "Orange", "Green" and "Yellow" trying to make it look like the sky.
  • For the tree, I went into Brother ScanNCut's web app CANVAS and took the "Oriental Tree" into it and resized it and then cut it out.
To make the card up:-
  • I used a 5" card that has a "Scalloped edge" along the diagonal edge (rather like an easel card without the easel)
  • I lightly inked the "Doily" in pale "Orange" and "Yelllow" and then glued the half of the back that I knew would be attached to the front of the card (making sure that no glue was left on the part that would be overhanging it).
  • I glued the scalloped circle in the centre of the panel and then added the tree to the centre of that.
  • I finally added some "Ripened Pumpkin" and "English Mustard" Nuvo Crystal drops to some of the spaces on the doily.
To finish the card off:-
Create your imagination - Oriental tree shaped card inside
  • I added a sentiment inside the card which is made up of a lacy edged circle (which I had coloured using the same inks as the main topper but slighty darker and then stamped the message "Create Your Imagination" (from Visible Image) "This is Me" collection) in black Versafine and then embossed them using DoCrafts Papermania "Clear" embossing powder.

And there you are....a slightly different card which is going to form part of a new range I am bringing out soon. Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale.
