Fairy on a hummingbird with dandelion head hand coloured C5 cream card - Day 220 of my 366 day challenge
Fairy on hummingbird hand coloured C5 cream card -
Day 220 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
I have made another card for day 220 of my 366 day challenge, this time using a Pinflair Background Artist image of a fairy on hummingbird (in silhouette) which I have hand coloured and then stamped a similar dandelion image on a scalloped edge C5 cream card.
- To make the main topper - I used one of the "fantasy" themed panels which has the fairy on a humminghbird and dandelion already printed on it which you can get from Pinflair. here and cut one out leaving a very small border around it.
- I wanted it to have a more mystical feel to it (more like the Aurora Borealis lights) and so used various shades of green* (from Tim Holtz, Generation INX), along with some of their red, blues, and yellow colours until I was happy. I also then used some Mementio Tuxedo Black ink to create the darker sky at the top and also used some paper to mask off various parts to create the land/sea.
- I used a circle of card to mask off the top left hand corner whilst I was colouring to create the "moon". I then added some of the Tuxedo black to it so it gave the impression of some clouds over it.
- I left it to dry overnight and then mat and layered it on to some white, black and then white cardstock. (You could also use paper instead).
- To decorate the card itself, I stamped the largest of the Allums from Clarity Stamps around the edge of the C5 scalloped edged card which I used as a tent fold using Memento Tuxedo Black. I also added some of the smallest in the set using Tim Holtz "Twisted Citron" and the Green Generation INX inks around the edge too.
- I then used some foam pads to place the whole topper on to the middle of the card. I also cut out a "fern" leaf (from the Foliage die collection from First Edition Trimcraft) in bright green card and glued it to the left hand corner.
- To finish the card off - I stamped two of the large Aliums inside using the Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
And there you are....a really lovely card which will be on my website shortly. Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale.
