Day 228 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

With it being Born Free's International Year of the Lion this year, I thought I would make this to celebrate it.

• To make the main image, I first of all cut out one of the "Background Artist" images of the lions and trees in silhouette which Pinflair produced. I cut out a length of card as a "mask" and first of all coloured the sky area using "Summer Sky" (Cosmic Shimmer Colour Cloud blending ink) several times gradually building it and leaving some white space to give the impression of clouds.

• I then needed to "ground" the lions and so I used various green shades of ink, using the mask in various positions to give the impression of them being on the ground. I used Tim Holtz's "Mowed Lawn" and Generation INX green inks and added some yellow to both the cloud and grass areas.  I also cleaned the silhouetted parts with some kitchen roll to clean any ink that might have been left on them. Using one of the "Essentials Aqua blends" pencils, i just added some shadow beneath the lions.

• To make the photo frame, I again used black Pebeo Acrylic gesso paint and covered both the front and back parts of some greyboard (pre cut to 205x155mm) (from Craft Creations) and allowed them to dry before giving them a second coat.

• I then added some white card to the back panel and glued the "Lion" panel onto it - ensuring that it was in the right place beforehand. I stuck the frame panel onto it again making sure it was in the right place.

• To finish the frame off - i added a "black and white" bow which comes from Creative Crafting World I think and then the sentiment "Special Friend" to it too. I also used a "white" Gel pen to add some doodles and 4 dots of "Bottle Green"  Nuvo acrylic drops to each corner.

• I also used some white narrow cord to the back so it can be hung up rather than using the conventional prop
