Always Bee Yourself.... handmade Bee circle card - 365 Day Challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's card for my 365 Day challenge is one that I have made from scratch using Dies and Stamps and a couple of crayons!
- I first of all cut out two pieces of white cardstock (approx 300gsm) using the scalloped edged circle die from Lisa Horton (but lots of other Companies produce them).
- I then scored one of them towards the top of the circle (about 3/4") and added some red liner tape to it, removed the backing and stuck the two pieces of card together making sure the edges matched.
- I decided that rather creating the image on a topper that I could attach to it, I would do it directly on to the front of the card (this meant I couldn't use alcohol markers as they would have bled through to the back).
- I needed to create the scene so decided to use a stamping platform - I used a load n fold one for this but you could use any that are on the market.
- I first of all added the two parts of the wreath (from the Bee-Yuotiful Collection from Crafter's Companion Nature's Garden set) on to the card (reverse side up), picked it up with the other side of the Load n Fold, added some Obsidian Black ink from Gina K and closed the lid stamping the images on to the card. I repeated the process a couple of times so that the wreath stood out.
- I then added the body of the Bee and inked it in the Black ink.
- The yellow parts of the body are a separate stamp and can be lined up using the marker on the stamp and are stamped with Izink yellow embossing ink.
- I also then repeated the process with the wings but this time using the Gina K ink.
- I stamped the flower and the Always bee Yourself images at the top and bottom of the design.
- I decided it needed something else and so added the Bee and Buzz... stamps from the Bee Gnome set from Francoise Read's collection from Woodware Stamps.
- I coloured the flower, little bee and wreath using Stabilo FSC crayons.
