WooHoo! Safari animals and Jungle green themed large card - Day 38 of my 365 day challenge

WooHoo! Safari animals and Jungle green themed large card -
Day 38 of my 365 day challenge

HI Craft addicts!

I am really pleased with this card as it turned out almost how I saw it in my head! I used Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps and co-ordinating masks along with some distress inks.

How I made this card:-

Main topper -
  • I first of all cut this panel out using a Spellbinders ornate rectangle die in white card.
  • I kept it in the die and coloured it in using various shades of Altenew Green inks, trying to make it look like a sunrise/sunset but this time using green - I also used their Pure Graphite ink pad to give the sky a darker feel.
  • Keeping it in the die, also meant the border that wasn't in the die was highlighted.
  • I allowed it to dry and then used the Go Wild stamps, stamping the larger tree and grass on the topper using Onyx Black Versafine ink (first generation). along with the giraffe. I also stamped the elephants second generation (stamping it off on a scrap of paper first) as I wanted them to look like they were in the distance.
  • I then added some birds in the sky from the same collection using the same ink.
Card itself:-
  • This is a 7" white square card, so as the mask (from the You're a Hoot collection) was only 150mm, I needed to mask off the inside and move it over until the whole of the border was coloured - I used Altenew's Moss for the corners and their Parrot for the inner parts of the border.
  • When I was happy with it, I then masked off the other bits of the mask and used the leaf section in the left hand corner a couple of times. I then used a fine Black Fineliner pen to outline them both.
  • I then masked off the border and other parts of the mask and added the WooHoo! sentiment in the bottom right hand corner (again using the Moss ink pad).
  • I then glued the main panel to the front of the card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue and again allowed to to dry.
  • Finally, I added some green gems (from HobbyHouse) to the bottom of the leaves, the dot of the exclamation mark, one in each corner and then three in the top right hand corner.

And there you are a card (but could be made into some home decor instead).
