You're too kind... DL card - 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is one using dies and stamps....
- I decided to try a different way of using the Shabby Edge rectangle die from Tattered Lace and cut it out in a caramel coloured cardstock.
- I then used the Creative Expressions Slimline collection - Inner Scalloped Rectangle aperture trio die and cut out the three apertures in the card.
- I used the complimentary Outer Scalloped edge die and used it to cut a piece of white card.
- To create the striped background, I used the left over waste die cuts from a Lisa Horton die and coloured through it with various pastel hybrid inks - from Tim Holtz Distress Oxide to Aladine Izink ink cubes.
- I then attached it to the back of the caramel card using PVA glue and then added the white aperture frame on top of them both.
- I used PVA glue to attach it to the front of a DL card which I used landscape rather than portrait, not minding that it overhung the main card as it gives it a bit of difference.
- I used the Necessities - Robin Family and Sweet Dreams Little one die sets from Creative Expressions (designed by Sue Wilson) and cut out the Kitten and one of the smaller robins out in Lynda Chapman's Black card and stuck them to the card with a tape pen.
- I used a white pencil to add the eyes and whiskers and other highlights to them.
- The You're Too Kind sentiment is from the Warm Wishes sentiment stamp collection from Carnation Crafts and I stamped it directly on to the card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink.
