Smile... Single poppy circle card - 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's latest handmade card is one made right from scratch using dies to make the card and all the mats n layers!
- I first of all used the Filigree Poppy doily die set from Tattered Lace and cut out two of the largest dies to create the card itself.
- I scored along the top of one of the card using my Adorable Scoreboard from Hunkydory and then added some red liner tape to it, removed the backing and attached the two pieces together making sure that they matched perfectly.
- I used one of the larger Spellbinders Petit Picot edge circle dies to cut out the main mat using green Metallinks card from Paper Dienamics.
- I then cut out a slightly smaller layer using a scalloped edged circle die in Lynda Chapman's Black card and then some decreasing circles in white and green card ( both dies and card are from Crafter's Companion).
- I attached them all to each other using a tape pen as even having 4 layers doesn't actually add much height to the card - but if you wanted to you could you use foam pads instead.
- I cut out the poppy style flower in black card (this is a Stamps By Me Linear Poppies set) and then attached it to the mat layer which I had cut out in white.
- I used various Red shades of Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers to colour it in and once I was happy with the shading used some foam pads to add it to the centre of the card.
- For the sentiment, I used one of Lisa Horton's sticker sentiments in white on black, added it to some white card, fussy cut around it and then stuck it to some of the matching Green card and after fussy cutting that too, edged it with a Black alcohol marker and stuck it to the card with a tape pen.
- I also cut part of the back piece of the card at the bottom so it could stand up without rocking.
So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:-
