Hope you have a blast - space and aliens 6in shaped card -
Day 52 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

I had coloured in the blue topper and it reminded me of a space scene so thought I would use it to make this fun card that could be suitable for anyone interested in aliens!

How I made this card:-

  • As I mentioned above, I made the circle topper by cutting a piece of stamping card using a Tattered Lace die and then a slightly larger one in black card.
  • I then used some Altenew inks (mainly blues and blacks) to colour the smaller one - flicking some water on it and then dabbing the excess off to make it look a bit space like (I also thought about using it for underwater).
  • I then stuck it to the black layer and used a white Gel pen to create the faux stitching.
  • Meanwhile, I used a blue alcohol marker (Spectrum Noir BT7 old style) to create the borders on a 6" (approx) scalloped edged card.
  • I then took the mask from the Out of this World set (from the For the Love of Masks) and used the starry section (and the edge) to create the background on the front of the card. I also coloured in the edges to fill it in.
  • Using the stamps from the same set, I stamped out the rocket (twice), the earth, alien and alien in spacecraft once on to some white stamping card and coloured them in - I used Blues and Greens for the Earth, greys, oranges and yellows for the rockets and oranges for the alien - I used Zig Water Color pens for them but you could use alcohol markers too!
  • I cut them all out trying to leave a narrow border around them and attached them to the front of the card using thin foam pads (Hunkydory's are good for this).
  • Finally, I stamped the sentiment Hope you have a blast on to a precut label shape using Onyx Black Versafine ink and edged it using the same blue alcohol marker and attached it to the bottom right hand side of the card - this time with a double lot of foam pads to give it extra height.

And there you are a cheerful and fun card that is simple to make....
