Have a Fun Day flower on a bright background C6 black card - Day 54 of my 365 day challenge
Have a Fun Day flower on a bright background C6 black card -
Day 54 of my 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's card is a result of testing some alcohol markers on an embossed background - really like the effect it creates (even if the topper itself is upside down).
How I made this card:-
- I took a panel (pre-cut) of stamping card and put it through my Cut n Boss using a hearts embossing folder from DoCrafts (XCut). I trimmed it a bit as I wanted it to fit the black card from Papercharm.
- I then used a variety of alcohol markers - rainbow colours using each several times - I wasn't worried to much if they blended - in fact I wanted them to!
- You have to let it dry from several hours otherwise it will smear and you can lose the effect you want...
- Whilst drying, I used a Tattered Lace Flower die and cut it out in white cardstock - I was going to use black but think the white stands out more.
- I then stuck it to the panel using some glue dots and some PVA Glue (Cosmic Shimmer or Glue it from Pinflair) towards the top.
- I stamped the HAVE A FUN DAY sentiment out on some white card - this comes from the Fairground Fun set from Hunkydory's For the Love of Stamps range using Onyx Black Versafine ink and embossed it with some clear powder as I wanted to use an alcohol marker to colour the lettering in, which I did using a bright fluorescent pink one.
- I edged it in the pink and added it to the bottom of the panel using some foam pads.
- Finally, I added the panel on to the front of a C6 black card and used some black and gold peel off border stickers around it.
- I also added a white insert for writing in.
And there you are a cheerful and fun card that is simple to make....
