Let's Celebrate - Owls in Trees DL card + Best Wishes Autumn Leaves 7" white card -
Days 154 + 155 of my 366 Day Challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
As I missed my blog yesterday (I know you all missed it), I am showing two cards this time - one of which you can buy on my website www.thehandmadecraftsshop.co.uk
The first one is a DL card using a cute owls topper and background from Lelli-bots and the second one using Hunkydory, Craftwork Cards, Tattered Lace and Tonic Studios products.
So, first of all, the "Let's Celebrate" - Two owls in a tree white DL card. This has been made using the really fun images from Lelli-bots "Twit-Twoo" collection and is really simple to make. I used one of the papers from the 8" x 8" kit and cut it using a paper trimmer (Tonic Studios is my preferred option) so that it left a narrow border. Using a fineliner pen, I then added some faux-stitching to the edge of the background.
Once that was done, I then cut out around the tree as I felt it looked better for my card and attached it to the bottom using some foam pads. I then added some "Apple Green" Nuvo Crystal drops to each corner to add a bit of colour.
And there you are a quick and easy card that is really fun to make - you can buy it on my website here
Products and items you may need to make these Twit-twoo project
- DL white card with matching envelope (DoCrafts Papermania or Hunkydory do really good ones)
- Twit-Twoo 8" x 8" paper collection and topper set from Lelli-bot
- Black fineliner pen
- Apple Green Nuvo Crystal Drops from Tonic Studios
- Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue
- Collall All Purpose Glue
- Foam pads - either Hunkydory or Stix2
And my second card is the "Best Wishes" Autumn leaves 7" square card
For this one, I used a 7" square card (this one is from Hunkydory) and used one of their Gold Mirri card pre cut 6" squares, some Kraft card and a sentiment from the "Year of Sentiments" from Craftwork Cards and two die sets from Tattered Lace.
So, for this card, I cut the Mirri card first of all using the "Lacy Layers Squares" die as it cut the pattern into the cardstock rather than cutting it out completely I then used one of the "Pin Dot Squares" to cut it out. I then glued the remaining border on to the front of the card using Cosmic Shimmer glue and then the fancy frame at an angle - trying to make sure that it was in the right place.
I think the topper came from one of Hunkydory's Autumn collection last year but I thought it went well with the gold and so added it to some black and then Kraft cardstock (both from Creative Crafting World). I then attached it to the middle of the card using foam pads to lift it up a bit. I also added the "Best Wishes" sentiment (gold lettering) from the "Year of Sentiments" from Craftwork Cards again using foam pads.
I haven't added an insert or message inside but one could be!
