Kaleidoscope of butterflies - With Love - 5" x 7" Kraft card - Day 162 of my 366 day challenge

Kaleidoscope of butterflies - With Love - 5" x 7" Kraft card -
Day 162 of my 366 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

So something totally different from the football theme yesterday, this time I have designed a card using butterfly dies from Tattered Lace, a Tonic Studios border strip die and some acetate on a 5" x 7" Kraft card.

Kaleidoscope of butterflies - With Love - 5" x 7" Kraft card

I first of all cut out the border strip using the "Beautiful Buckle" die from Tonic Studios in a pale Kraft card (you can get different shades and weights from Craft Creations here) and stuck it to the centre of a 5" x 7" Kraft card (this particular one is from a pack of 10 from Dovecraft (Trimcraft) which comes with matching envelopes too). I then cut round the right hand edge making the front part of the card slightly narrower than the back.

I then cut a panel of "floral" acetate (from Hunkydory) and stuck it to the inside of the front card using strong red liner tape.

Using the "Radiant Butterfly" Tattered Lace die, I cut out 3 of them in cream, pale Kraft and a darker one and some more using the "With Love" butterfly die (again from Tattered Lace) which I separated into the "With Love" and then the butterflies.

I then stuck all three of the large butterflies on top of each other using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue in the middle of the card and 2 of the "sideways" to the top and bottom of the strip so that they overhung the acetate. I had a smaller butterflies also cut out and so glued one of the pale Kraft options in the middle so it graduated in shading from the darker to light.

Cutting out the words " With Love" I placed them on the card for the purpose of this blog but didn't attach them. I also decorated the buckle strip with "Caribbean Ocean" Nuvo crystal drops.

I also decorated the inside of the envelope with a panel of paper which came from a Craftwork Cards kit and then added one of the cream butterflies to the outside.

And there you are a striking card that has been made using a couple of dies and some acetate.
