Happy birthday - Owl with Bee detail 6" square card -
Day 164 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
I love this background image of the owl and leaves from the "Enchanted Woodland" 8" paper pad from Craftwork Cards and wondered how I could make it the focal point of a card - so this is my take on it!
I used a 6" white card (with envelope) from Hunkydory and cut the background paper to 5.5" allowing a 1/4" border all around and shaped the corners using the We R Memory Keepers Crop-a-dile Corner Chomper (using the scalloped edge option). I then stuck it to the card front (you can use glue or even fingerlift tape).
I then cut out the "Beautiful Bee" die from Tattered Lace in black and added some orange card to the body section so that it looked like a bee and stuck it at an angle to the top left hand corner.
I also used the "Happy Birthday" senitment die (from Tonic Studios Retro collection) and cut it out in pale blue Adorable Scorable cardstock and then glued it to some black card and cut round it.
I then used a double layer of 1mm foam pads from Hunkydory to place it on the card which gave it more dimension.
Using some "Clear" Nuvo Crystal drops, I placed some on the owl's eyes so that they will look more realistic once dry (not in time for the photo) and also along the orange parts of the bee's body. I also added a single drop of their "Blue Lagoon" one in each corner.
To finish it off, I added some of the background paper left over to the inside of the envelope just to add that special touch!
And there you are....a bright and cheerful card and don't forget you can buy from me here
