Autumn Greetings - leaves DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!      I have created a series of cards using the Autumn Blessings collection from Crafter's Companion along with various other products to complete them! I had great fun making this simple but effective DL card. I used a variety of Aladine Izink sprays and spritzed a yellow piece of card (from Tattered Lace) to create an Autumn feel background and left it to dry. Once it was, I used the Skeleton Leaves Die set from the Autumn Blessings collection and cut the three leaves out. I had previously used Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Slimline Decorative Rectangle Aperture Trio die and cut some of Lynda Chapman's Black card I then stuck it on to some gold mirror card and trimmed it to fit and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. I then used a dotty tape pen (from Crafter's Companion Gemini range) to stick the leaves inside the apertures and then stuck it to the front of a DL card (having previously cut the corners of the card and scored three lines on the...

Enjoy your Special Day - layered tulips square card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this one using Stamps by Me products along with Hybrid inks... I rounded the corners of a 6" white card using a Hunkydory punch. I then cut a piece of teal Metalinks card (from Paper Dienamics) to fit the card leaving a narrow border around it and then rounded the corners of that too. I followed the instructions of the Stamps by Me Abstract Tulips layering stencils (from 1-4) using a variety of colours for each layer starting with the lightest solid image right up to the darkest outline style one last of all. I also used the little snowflake/star stamp and stamped it all around the image using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. When I was happy with the result, I rounded the corners and stuck it to the teal card and attached both to the front of the card. Finally I stamped out the sentiment on to some white card, added it to some of the teal card and added it using foam pads. So if you think t...

Congratulations - falling leaves A6 card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       As it is now officially Autumn, I have created a series of cards using the Autumn Blessings collection from Crafter's Companion along with various other products to complete them for my 365 day challenge! The first one is this Congratulations card... I first of all used a variety of Aladine Izink sprays and spritzed a yellow piece of card (from Tattered Lace) to create an Autumn feel background. Once it was dry, I trimmed it to fit the Autumnal Foliage 3D embossing folder, placed it inside and put it through my Big Shot foldaway cutting machine. I then edged it with a black alcohol marker. For the main topper, I took a tag from Hunkydory's Prism range and using some of their Washi tape to mask the centre, coloured both sides of the tag with Yellow and Orange inks (Hybrid inks) and left it to dry before taking the tape away. Once dry, I then used the Autumnal Tree layering stamps, following the numbers and used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Walnut ...

It's the Little Things..Conker 4in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's card for my 365 day challenge is a very quick and easy one that you can easily make into a larger card giving more white space. I first of all rounded the corners of a 4" white card using a Hunkydory's punch. I had a small scalloped edged rectangle from a previous project (Creative Expressions Slimline dies) and decided that the Conker stamp from the Autumn Blessings Pumpkin Patch stamp set from Crafter's Companion and stamped it on to the card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I then used Spectrum Noir's Triblender markers to colour it in, trying to create the impression of its' shiny shell. Once I was fairly happy with the result I then stuck it to some hand coloured card with a tape pen. The pennant part of the design is 2 dies from the Paper Boutique's Essential Nesting Dies Vol IV and I cut them out in the same card stock as the Conker image and stuck them together again using a tape pen. I stuck the pennant down first in...

Hello My Friend Abstract flower A2 Kraft card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a bright and cheerful card that should bring some fun to anyone you send it to... I first of all rounded the corner of an A2 Kraft card (from Tonic Studios) with a Hunkydory Prism punch. I then took one of Hunkydory's Tags (from their pad) and masked off two areas - one about 1.5" from the top and another at the bottom with some of their Washi tape. I painted the areas with Lava Orange Neon polish from Creative Expressions and left it to dry and then repeated the process and again left it to dry. I removed the masking tape and then added some wide red liner tape to just below the painted areas, removed the backing layer and placed some black foil over it and burnished it until there was no sticky parts on it. I then repeated the process again at the top. I used the abstract flower stamp from the Dylusions set, and stamped it on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I colou...

Just to Say... Mouse and poppies 7x5" card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this simple but effective 7x5" top fold card using once again using the Mouse and poppies die from Creative Expressions... I first of all used some of Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock to cut out the Mouse and poppy die from Creative Expressions Paper Panda range. I had coloured some super smooth card using Hybrid inks to create this pastel background. I used a dotty tape pen (from Crafter's Companion) to attach the die cut to the panel as I didn't want any glue showing. I then fussy cut around it and added it to a panel of Lynda Chapman's Black card again using a tape pen and then trimmed it so that there was a narrow border all around it and then rounded the corners with a Hunkydory Prism punch. I then glued it (with PVA glue) to the left hand side of a white landscape card (from Paper Boutique range from Creative Crafting World) and the rounded the corners with the same punch. T...

Sending love your way... DL card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun New Home card featuring a toadstool. I first of all stamped out the toadstool image (from Dylusions) on to some white card - I placed the stamp on my desk, inked it with Gina K Obsidian Black ink and then placed the card over it making sure the image came out ok. I then coloured it in using a mix of Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers - red, browns and yellows until I was happy with the result and cut around it trying to cut on the black line. I used a scissors to open the door leaving a bit uncut so it opened. For the background I coloured some Willow White Sheena Douglass cardstock using Ink Lily Winter Glitter pens (which have gold glimmer in them but can't be seen in the pic). I also created another background using a piece of yellow cardstock from a Tattered Lace Halloween collection and spritzed it with a variety of Aladine's Izinks sprays to create a brownish background. I cut both o...

With Love... mouse and poppy A6 cream card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this simple but effective A6 card using two dies..... I first of all used some Gold Mirror card and cut out the Mouse and poppy die from Creative Expressions Paper Panda range. I then cut out the rectangle frame from Lynda Chapman's Black card (from Creative Crafting World) using the Mini Lace die set from Tattered Lace. I used a tape pen to attach the die cut to the panel (trying to avoid getting marks on the Mirror card) - but I think next time I will use self-adhesive paper. I then rounded the corners of an A6 cream card using a Prism corner punch (from Hunkydory) and stuck the panel in to the centre of it again using a dotty pen (I used a Crafter's Companion one). The With Love sentiment is a stamped one from Lisa Horton's Banner Sentiments stamp and die set - which is one stamp and die that you stamp first and then place the die over it and cut all the various sentiments out. Fina...

There's no-one who deserves a Birthday... DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge was a fun one to make and again didn't have a die in sight! I used a DL card for this design and used a Hunkydory Prism punch to create the inverted edge to the corners. I cut a strip of white card measuring the length of the DL card and approximately 1.5" inw width and coloured it using Solent Green (Nuvo), Salty Ocean (Tim Holtx Distress Oxide) and a Yellow ink pad from Aladine Izinks. Once I was happy with the blending, I stamped the balloons image (from the Birthday Bears Box stamp and die set from Crafter's Companion Gemini range) three times, starting with the middle and then the top and bottom. I used Gina K Obsidian Black ink to do this as it is a hybrid ink and so can be used with either watercolours or alcohol inks. I then took a paint brush and bleached parts of them with some water, dabbing off the excess. I then added some of Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Oxide ink on to a glass...
