Shorthand notebook, bookmark and pencil gift set - Graphic 45 designs -
Day 185 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
So for today's challenge, I have made this shorthand notebook, bookmark and pencil gift set using the images and papers from Graphic 45.
I used a normal shorthand notebook and covered it on both sides with this fantastic "Tartan" paper from Graphic 45 - it appears in several collections and is just so cheerful. I then added some "Red Liner tape" to the top edge and added some "Gilding flakes" to it - there are many colours available that you could use from Cosmic Shimmer, Tonic Studios and Crafty Notions (to name just three).
I made sure that they were well rubbed in and then used the "scourer" to ensure no tape was left exposed. To make the main topper, I used one of the really beautiful images of a lady with a dog from the "Raining Cats and Dogs" collection and mat and layered it on to some white cardstock and used some foam pads to attach it to the front of the notepad at a slightly jaunty angle.
To make the "pocket" for the bookmark, I took some of the border strip (with all the different dogs) and again added it to some white card and used red liner tape on the top and bottom and added some matching "Gilding flakes" to them (repeating what I had done previously). I then used some more red liner tape on both sides and the bottom and attached it to the bottom of the cover.
To make the bookmark, I used a pre-cut one (from Craft Creations) and covered it using the Tartan paper leaving a small border on all sides. I used more of the "Dogs" border adding it to some white cardstock before gluing it to the bookmark. I then added some red and white Baker's Twine for a ribbon.
For the pencil and its' holder, I used some of the tartan paper and stuck it to the cover (making sure that the pencil is held securely and then covered the middle part of the pencil in the Tartan too!.
And there you are....a notepad set with a difference that will make a great gift - you can buy it here and don't forget you can visit my website The Handmade Crafts Shop to see what else I have for sale.
