Hello! Balloons theme - C5 white linen effect card -
Day 196 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
So for today's challenge, I have made the first of what will be a series of cards using balloons as the main focal point. These have all been cut from a design in the "Stamps" collection from my Brother Scan n Cut.
I first of all chose the "Balloon" template and cut out 6 (the H being slightly bigger than the rest of the word) of them in 2 shades of pink cardstock (from American Crafts as it really does cut out so well) using my Brother Scan n Cut along with the torn edge border strip. For that I first of all decided on how long/wide I wanted it to be and then added an offset outline of 2cm so that when it cuts out, you automatically have a perfect mat for it.
I stuck the torn edge border in the darker pink to the bottom of the card cutting it slightly smaller so that the scallops were still showing and then the paler pink on top. I then glued the first letter towards the top of the left hand corner - working out beforehand the best way of fitting the word in of course! I then stuck the rest of the letters at various angles and used the co-ordinating colour to the relevant spaces. To finish the balloons off, I used a black Micron fineliner pen (0.3) and drew in the string finishing off just above the border strip.
I also added some "Autumn Red" Nuvo Crystal drops to either side of the card to add a bit more colour to it.
And there you are....a really cute card that would make a great welcome to a new baby or just to say hi to a friend you haven't spoken to for some time - you can buy it here and don't forget you can visit my website The Handmade Crafts Shop to see what else I have for sale.
