Happy Birthday - Balloons in purple and black 7" square card -
Day 201 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
So for today's challenge, I have again only used items that you can cut out from your Brother Scan n Cut cutting machine (You could of course use a Silhouette or Cricut to do this too - or even die cut the items too...
I first of all decided what I wanted to have on my 7" x 7" card and designed them using the CANVAS app - the balloons are part of the STAMP collections and I reduced the balloon to measure 5x4mm and duplicated it so I had 3 of them (you could of course have more of them).
I then used the "SALAMANCA" font to type out the "Happy" word, and then divided it so that I could move them to be vertical instead of horizontally spaced. As I wanted to weld them, I made sure that they were all linked slightly together and once happy with how it looked, I used the "Weld" function to group them all together. I repeated this with the word "Birthday" and added a lacy/scalloped edged border as I wanted the balloons to be "anchored" to something.
Once I was happy with all the elements, I cut them out using my Brother Scan n Cut Special Edition in both black and purple/lilac cardstock (the black is American Crafts and the lilac Cricut). If you just have scraps of cardstock, you could scan them in to your machine and position all the items to fit them!
Positioning the balloons where I wanted them, I glued them to the front of the card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue, added the border strip to the bottom of the card and added the "string" using a black Micron Fineliner pen. I then glued the "Birthday" word first to the bottom right hand corner and then added the "Happy" afterwards.
To finish the card off, I added some "Liquid Mercury" Nuvo crystal drops to the border and another 3 small drops to the top right hand corner.
And there you are....a really simple but fun card to wish someone a happy birthday! You can buy it here. Don't forget you can visit my website The Handmade Crafts Shop to see what else I have for sale.
