Flower and bubble background - 3 colours 7" square card -
Day 188 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
So for today's challenge, I have used toppers and backgrounds mainly cut using my Brother Scan n Cut (and CANVAS online) (am finding I am using it more and more now for all sorts of projects).
I first of all cut out a "bubbles" panel in black cardstock from one of the files that I bought from the Digital Crafting Emporium (ten large fretwork panels for just £2.50) - John Bloodworth (AKA the Gentleman Crafter) has lots of SVG/FCM files which you can buy to use with the Brother Scan n Cut. This was originally a square panel but I cut it down so it was just a border and glued it to the left hand side of the card.
I then used some of the pre-installed templates to cut out one scalloped edged square* in black cardstock (American Crafts) which measures approximately 12cm and other in white cardstock (again American Crafts) measuring 10cm approx and glued them together making sure there was an even space all around.
- *You could also add an "offset" line to the smaller one and cut both out in the two colours so that you would know definitely that they would match perfectly
I then cut out a red flower shape (again using American Crafts cardstock and again measuring 10cm approx) from the Stamps selection of templates - this is a separate product which you can get from Create & Craft here.
I stuck them all together and placed it in the centre of the card and glued it down using Collall All Purpose Glue as it allowed me a bit of time to get it into the right place.
I had previously cut out the "cream" centre flower using a Tattered Lace die and glued only the centre part to the card so the petals can be "raised" a bit.
To finish the card off, I added some "Red Berry" Nuvo Crystal drops to alternate "bubbles" and a drop inside the main flower.. No sentiment was added as that could e added later if you so wish (as well as the inside)>
And there you are....a bright and cheerful card and don't forget you can buy from me here
You can visit my website The Handmade Crafts Shop to see what else I have for sale.
