Best Wishes Butterfly DL landscape Kraft card - Day 96 of my 366 day challenge
Best Wishes Butterfly DL landscape Kraft card -
Day 96 of my 366 day challenge
I used Ali Reeves Stamp and Colour card to colour on as it is uncoated and is really good quality - I have used various colours to create this background - mainly Tim Holtz Distress ink pads but also have tried out a range of colours from a new company (apologies if they have been around for ages) called Generation INX by Stamps by Me. I used a mix of foam "mushrooms" (from Pinflair etc) to a plain foam square dauber.
So if you think this sounds interesting then why not:-
Hi Craft addicts!
I have been playing with using ink pads to make backgrounds and have made this card from the results! I am quite pleased with the way it turned out but there are still so many ways I need to make it better!
I used a couple of pieces of the card to make a variety of backgrounds - the colours used being red, orange, blue, purple and green. Once I was happy I allowed it to dry for a bit. I then stamped the butterfly design from the "Bejewlled Buttefly" stamp collection from Altenew using Versafine Black Onyx. I then heat embossed it with Holographic powder from DoCrafts (Papermania) and cut round it.
also cut a 100x100mm piece of the card and layered it with a Tattered Lace frame. and stuck it to a DL (Landscape) Kraft card.
Before putting the butterfly onto the frame, I coloured in parts of the butterfly using orange and dark maroon Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and then stuck it on using foam pads to give it some height. I also added some Yellow and Clear Nuvo crystal drops to parts of the body and attennae to give it some definition.
I then cut another piece of the background and placed it onto some white backing paper and glued it to the right hand side of the card. I then added a Tattered Lace frame and added the "Best Wishes" sentiment (from "The Year of Sentiments" by Craftwork Cards to it after just edging it in black and coloured it in slightly.
I haven't put an insert into it yet but will do so later on....And there you are, one card that I am really pleased with (am getting better at using Distress inks as shading for backgrounds - I hope so anyway,.)
