Oriental themed set of 5 different tag shaped cards - day 250 of my 366 day challenge
Oriental themed set of 5 different tag shaped cards -
day 250 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's challenge is the 250th of my 366 day challenge and so I have made these 5 "Oriental" themed cards which will be given away to the first person who signs up to my newsletter on my website (click here).
As you can see from the photo above there are 5 different tag shaped cards all with an Oriental theme. I have made them using the following methods:but for all them i cut out an "Pin dot" oval shape in 2 different sizes using the Tattered Lace die.
- Pagoda - New Adventure - for this particular one, I coloured the oval using Tim Holtz and Generation INX ink pads in Orange, yellow and black to make it look like a
- Pagoda - New Home - I again coloured the background in the same way as above but this time thought that the "NEW HOME" sentiment would be more appropriate so backed it on to some black card, cut it into a "Chevron" shape and added that to the middle of the card with some foam pads.
- Bonsai Tree - Make a Wish - this is done in a similar way but this time I tried to create a "landscape" scene by using "Greens, blues and blacks" Distress inks (again Tim Holtz, Generation INX and Cloud blending inks). I resized the "Bonsai Tree" in CANVAS and cut it out in black card and again placed both that and the oval background to the centre of the card. For the sentiment, I used the "Make a Wish" one and added it to the Oriental sign that I again resized in CANVAS and cut it out using my Brother ScanNCut and added them to the card using foam pads.
- Choose Happiness - this time I used the "Oriental Crane" image on the USB and took it into CANVAS and resized it. I also duplicated it and enlarged it slightly and cut them both out. For the background, I wanted it to be a stormy background and so used "Blues, Blacks and greens" on the oval and then placed that on to the centre of the card. I cut the legs of the crane off and first of all glued the body to it, then checked where I wanted the sentiment to go and placed the legs just above the base of it to give it some more length. The sentiment once again comes from the "Year of Sentiments" from Craftwork Cards and I placed it on some black card and coloured it with some blue inks and attached it to the card using foam pads.
- Have a Fabulous Day - this was done in a similar way to all the others but this time coloured the background in slightly lighter colours. I placed the "Crane" on it in the same way and added the "Have a fabulous day" sentiment just below the body of the crane so that the gap didn't show!
And there you are....a really stylish set of cards to launch my Oriental themed cards and gifts. You can buy them here Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale.
