Vintage Grand Prix C5 cream scalloped edged card - day 246 of my 366 day challenge
Vintage Grand Prix C5 cream scalloped edged card -
day 246 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today, I have gone vintage using this great "Grand Prix" image from one of Hunkydory's "male" collections in this tent fold C5 cream scalloped edged card.
To make the card -
- I first of all took the "Vintage Grand Prix" oval topper from the "Gentleman's Journey" cardmaking kit and removed the two frames from it.
- I then used the largest oval and measured the inside of it as I wanted to make an aperture within the C5 cream scalloped card - this measured 11x14cm approximately,
- I used the standard shapes within my Brother ScanNCut, chose an oval and resized it.
- I then scanned in the card using the Scanning functiion and placed the "Oval" where I wanted it to be and cut it out - why have I never used this before - it was so simple! Though I probably would have cut it slightly lower down in the card but hey ho!
- Using some Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue, I attached the large oval frame on the outside of the card making sure it was in the right place and no glue went on to the inside of the card.
- I then used the "oval" waste from the card and glued the actual topper on to that and edged it using a black alcohol marker.
- I wanted the topper to come out of the card a bit, so added some thick foam pads to the back of it and placing it in the aperture and pressed it lightly as to where it should go inside the card.
- I cut one of the remaining frames into 4 and glued them to the left hand corners and added some "Dark Walnut" Nuvo crystal drops to the right hand side and the space in between the two tracks.
And there you are....a slightly different card with a motoring theme. Don't forget you can visit The Handmade Crafts Shop anytime to see what else I have for sale.
