Vintage Airplane A6 card with ATC style topper/fridge magnet

 Hi Craft addicts!

 Today's card is something slightly different as I had made this ATC style coin (my 2nd attempt) and thought it would great as part of this A6 card using the Sharon Callis stamp.


 How I made this card-
  • This is made using various stages - the first being making the ATC style coin topper.
  • I first of all used White Gesso to cover it and let it dry between each coat.
  • I then took some Lavender Blue & Blue Parakeet (it is Green) Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polishes and created the sea/sky effect.
  • I then inked just the pilot part of the Airplane stamp (from Sharon Callis) using Black Amalgam Gina K ink and placed the MDF coin over it - I wasn't too concerned that it wasn't too distinct as I think it gives it a "ghostly" effect.
  • I used the same ink to cover the whole of the stamp (it is slightly smaller than A6) and placed a piece of A6 White card over it and used my hand to make sure the image had come through - you could use a stamping platform to repeat the process if it didn't straight away).
  • I then coloured the sky etc using Hunkydory's Prism Blue Lagoon ink cube.
  • I used an alcohol marker (Spectrum Noir's EG1) to colour the aeroplane in.
  • I trimmed the whole panel down a fraction and then stuck it to some Holographic Mirri card (from Hunkydory), edged it with a black alcohol marker and then trimmed that so there was a very narrow border.
  • Using Collall All Purpose Glue, I stuck it to the front of a top fold A6 white card - I used Collall as it allowed me some wiggle time to get it in the right place.
  • Finally, I added a hook and eye set to where the Pilot was and then attached the MDF circle to that - you could also add a strip of fridge magnet material to make it adaptable.

Merry Christmas to all circle Christmas Card - 365 day challenge

  Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this one made totally from scratch. I used the largest circle (about 4") Petit Picot edge die from Spellbinders and cut out two pieces of card - the front is Paper Dienamic Metallink A4 card and the back part is Sheena Douglass A4 white willow card. I scored the back part about 3/4" towards the top and married the two pieces together and added some red liner tape, removed the carrier sheet and stuck them to each other. The black frame is cut out of Lynda Chapman's Black card using the Inverted Scallop die from Crafter's Companion Gemini collection and I stuck it to the front of the card using a dotty pen as it allows the glue to only go on places it needs to. Congrats... square card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Congratulations stamp and some patterned paper. I must admit i can't remember who produced this patterned paper but think it is Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World.. I rounded the corners of a 5" white square card and thought I would use it as a tent fold (that is with the fold at the top). I then cut out a piece of this foliage patterned paper so that there was a narrow border left when I placed it on the front of the card. Instead of adding a layer of black card behind it, I edged it with a Black alcohol marker and stuck it on using a tape runner pen - so many companies now do them or you could used  a light layer of PVA glue. I then cut a narrow panel (about 2") of the same paper so that it fitted the card and then stuck it to a slightly wider panel of Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock and stuck that to the card slightly left of the card front. There's Gnome one quite like you 7x5 inch card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a fun one using a mix of dies and stamps.. I first of all stamped out the Forest Gnome stamp from Francoise Reads collection by Woodware Stamps (part of the Creative Expressions company) using Gina K Obsidian Black ink. I coloured it in using Crafter's Companion Spectrum Noir Triblenders and cut each element out as I decided I wanted to use them separately to make up my design. I then cut out the Cracks and Pots dies from Carnation Crafts in white watercolour card and again coloured them in using a variety of the Triblenders until I was happy with the blending. I coloured a small panel of white stamping card (approximately 5" x 4") with Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Oxide for the sky and then a green ink from Simon Hurley - both from Ranger.
