Woohoo! Another year taller giraffe in window frame 7x5in card - Day 83 of my 365 day challenge

Woohoo! Another year taller giraffe in window frame 7x5in card - Day 83 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

I really love this card even if I say so myself - I had watched various You Tube videos showing these Lawn Fawn dies and so I really wanted to try them out with some For The Love of Stamps stamps (of course)....

How I made this card:-

  • I must admit I played with various stamps before selecting these cute giraffe stamps from the Another Year Taller set by Hunkydory's For The Love of Stamps.
  • The main frame is cut out from black cardstock (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper collection) and I also cut it out in a beautiful blue card and again in a blue and white spotted card (I will use the cut out pieces and use the frames later on). The dies are from Lawn Fawn and are called Peekaboo backdrop and there are 2 small and 2 large panels included too.
  • I first of all stuck the black panel on to a larger panel of white card to give it strength and a place where i could add the blue and white spotty paper once I had stamped each item on to it.
  • I used the head of the giraffe and stamped it on to one of the smaller squares and coloured it in using alcohol markers trying to make it look as giraffe like as possible. I then stamped the body onto one of the rectangle pieces using Versafine Onyx Black ink  - this time trying to position it so that it looked like it was part of the stamp on the square panel.
  • I then stuck both of them into the relevant spaces using PVA glue or a tape pen checking first that they looked ok. I also used the accompanying mask and stencilled through the Woohoo! part of it on the remaining rectangle panel using what was left on a dauber.
  • I also stamped the Another Year Taller sentiment on to the last panel using the Versafine ink and stuck them both in the left hand spaces.
  • I had edged them also with a blue ink pad.
  • For the windows on the right, I had cut out the window "doors" out of the blue card and used the dies in the set to create them and stuck them on top of the giraffe panels.
  • I then stamped some flowers on the outside and stuck the whole panel in the middle of a white landscape hammered card.

And there you are a Birthday card that is fun to make and receive!
