Happy birthday fairy themed C6 Linen effect card for Day 72 of my 365 day challenge
Happy birthday fairy themed C6 Linen effect card -
Day 72 of my 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
I had real fun making this card as I really love the colours that are in it - only 3 shades of blue but they are sufficiently different to make a striking card (well I think so)...
How I made this card:-
- I had cut out the various rectangle panels using Tattered Lace dies in the dark teal blue, white and paler blue cardstocks (picot edged) some time ago and I thought that they would all go together.
- I then cut a strip of blue paper (from the Rainbow Radiance paper pad from Hunkydory) and cut it in half as it wasn't quite long enough and stuck it to either side of the white panel approximately half way down.
- I had cut out the frame ages ago (think it was a Tonic Studios die) in white Hammered card and thought it would be great to showcase a fairy on a toadstool so I stamped the latter (from the A Little Pixie Dust set of stamps from For the Love of Stamps) using Versafine Onyx Black ink on to some white card.
- I then stamped it out again on a post-it note (towards the top where the sticky part is) and cut round it close as possible to the edge and stuck it over the original toadstool and then added the seating fairy on top of it.
- Using blues and greens distress or dye based inks (Altenew or Tim Holtz) I coloured the background leaving a little white area around it. I also used the Grass stamp from the collection to add the grass to the bottom of the toadstool (I used Altenew's Parrot ink pad).
- I glued the panel to the back of the frame and cut round it (just under the edges so that you couldn't see any white space). and glued it to the paler blue rectangle panel. I also added some dragonflies to the frame using one of the stamps.
- I then glued it to the white panel which I had edged with a blue alcohol marker and attached that to the darker blue one.
- Before sticking the whole panel on to the front of the card, I scored a couple of lines towards the bottom of the card using a score board (Adorable Scoreboard is great).
- I glued the panel on to the front of the card using a wet glue and then added the Happy Birthday scroll style sentiment on (which I had stuck to some blue card) - I did this with foam pads so that it gave it some height.
And there you are a stylish card that is not too hard to make especially when you have such lovely dies and card to work with...
