Pig Out it's your birthday scalloped edge cream square card -
Day 67 of my 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
I am having so much fun making these cards - this time this card (Day 67 of my 365 day challenge) has been made using Tattered Lace die cuts that I had cut out and not used!
How I made this card;-
- To make the components - I did the following:-
- As I mentioned earlier, I had cut out all of the main die cuts ages ago and thought I better use them up.
- Most of them are dies from Tattered Lace and are from various collections - I cut the Piggy, and Butterfly in white card and coloured them in using alcohol markers - the latter using pinks and dark pinks and then some Wink of Stella Pink glitter and the Pig in a pale pink and darker pink where his "skin" showed and then browns for the sticks and blue for his top and trousers. I was quite pleased with how they blended really well - to give it a realistic pinky colour!
- I then cut out the sun in purple card - one large and one smaller one and stuck the smaller one to the large. Again, this is a Tattered Lace die (not sure which one).
- The plants (or trees depending on how you look at them) were cut out in Green card and coloured using a darker green alcohol marker to soften its' tone.
- The fence was cut out of Centura Pearl cream card which is slightly thicker .
And now to make the card up...
- I cut a piece of blue paper slightly smaller than the scalloped edged cream card and stuck it on the front so that it represented the sky and then a separate piece of the green card and tore it at a gentle angle so that it looked like grass and measured it so that it was about 2/3rds the way down the sky and glued it on top of the blue card.
- I then stuck the sun in the top right hand corner and the butterfly on the right.
- I snipped the fence so that the gate opened and stuck both pieces to the bottom of the grass, adding a small glue dot (or foam pad) to the gate so that would look as if it was opened.
- I had tested where I wanted the pig beforehand and stuck him down so that the sticks just peeped over the gate - again I added a foam pad to his head so it looked slightly higher than the rest and then closed the gate.
- The plants were then stuck on either side of the gate and the "Pig out..." sentiment added to it. (This is from Rare Earth's Wonderful Wildlife set)
And there you are a cheerful and fun card that takes a bit of time to make but is definitely worth the effort!
