With Love Card No. 4 from Wolf Card challenge..
Hi Craft Addicts!
So here is number 4 card that has come out of the Pollyanna Pickering Moonlight (Wolf) Cardmaking kit.. I have to admit that it started out differently to what I thought it would but am pleased with it anyway....
I used one of the 8" (20x20cm) square cards that came in the kit and cut the front cover so that it measured 12cm.
I then used the Plush Peony Die from Tonic Studios to cut the border out on the back side of the card and kept the flower parts for another project.
After making sure that it was cut out properly, I used my Scor-pal and scored it so that it could fold over the front side of the card. I then used my scoring tool to burnish the crease so that it lay flat.
Once I was satisfied that it looked ok, I cut a strip 6 x 20cm from both the black card and floral acetate and taped them together using red liner ultra strong tape (as this is a patterned acetate the tape doesn't show) and glued it to the right hand side of the front using Collall All-Purpose Glue as it gave me a bit of time to make sure that it was lined up properly. After that I added some We R Memory Keepers Black Onyx Washi tape so that it covered the join.
Now to the topper - I thought that it might look ok if it was attached to the die cut part of the card so added some glue to those bits of the card that I could and then added the topper (the scalloped edged wolf image on some white and black cardstock as I thought it made it stand out a bit more). It also added a bit of weight to the die cut part!
I matt and layered the "Thinking of You" on to some white cardstock (you could also use copy paper for this layer) and then made a chevron shape out of some of the black and glued them together and then attached it to the bottom left hand corner using foam pads (I doubled them up so that it gave some height).
All that I then needed to do was add 3 Navy Blue Onyx pearl drops and the leaf which I cut out of the Sue Wilson dies (white cardstock coloured using the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers) and a black pearl drop (again from Tonic Studios) - they do really settle themselves into a proper dome!
I then realised that the envelope that was in the kit would be far too big for this card so I decided to use an A5 box that I had from HunkyDory some time ago.
Before making it up, I cut 2 strips of the background paper with the script 1.75x21cm and glued them to the sides (making sure that you don't put them on the wrong bit!). I also cut the part out with the wolf image (10x14.5cm) and matt and layered it on to more of the foiled acetate and black card (I did cut out the middle bit so I could use it for something else). I then glued it to the box using Collall All Purpose Glue.
I thought it looked a bit plain so coloured some Arboreal Dream flourishes (from Tonic Studios) in green using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers again and put them on each corner using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue as I could put it where I needed to.
Finally I added the "With Love" sentiment from Tonic Studios again (coloured the heart and dot of the I in purple) and then made the box up using the Ultra Strong Red tape as it is great for this type of thing - you could also use wet glue. Oh yes I also added some more pearl drops in each corner (Antique Rose Tonic Studios Crystal Drops)
And there you are - another Wolf card and box from Pollyanna Pickering's Moonlight cardmaking kit. I hope you like it!
DON'T FORGET! - This card is available for sale (£4.50 inc p&p) with 50% of the sale going to the EWCP (Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme)
