Hi Craft addicts!
Well today's card is one I have made using a Die for the main focal point on a background I created myself using Distress Oxides.
How I made this card:-
- The base card is an A6 (A2 in the US) which can be got from all sorts of companies such as Hunkydory, Paper Boutique etc....
- I used a pre cut A6 panel from Rare Earth and first of all used some Green Gossip inks coloured the hill at the bottom of the cardstock and left it to dry.
- Whilst that was happening, I cut out the Church silhouette (Serenity die set from Tattered Lace) in black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) - I used both the main oval and the inside die together on a magnetic sheet so they didn't move...
- Once that was done, I stuck some yellow/gold card behind the windows to make it look as if there were lights on - I used a PVA glue as it grabs better than a wet one. I also used a Black alcohol marker to hide any of the yellow card that might have been showing.
- Once the hill was dry, I then took some Salty Ocean, Black Soot and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide re-inkers and put some of the ink into a palette and created the sky blending the blue colours first and then adding the Black Soot to darken it a bit... I also added a touch of purple to give it a bit of life.
- I then left it to dry overnight and once it was, I took some Brilliance Moonlight Ink which is an Archival Pigment ink and dabbed some of it on to a craft mat and added some water to it and mixed it to create a sort of paste - I then used a paintbrush to splash some on to the background to make it look like stars and again left it to dry.
- I used some PVA glue to attach the Church topper on to the background and trimmed it on all sides so that it left a bit of white showing when I stuck it to the front of the A6/A2 card.
- Finally, I stamped the Thinking of You sentiment on to some white card (it is from Pretty Quick's Sentiments, Quotes and Verses set) using Gina K Black Amalgam ink, cut around it and then attached it to the bottom of the card using some foam tape.
