Relax, Calm, Unwind Tryptych of 3 small MDF panels home decor..

Hi Craft addicts!

Well, I have had this MDF panel for ages (to be honest so long that i can't remember who produced it and decided I would experiment with Glitz Craft pastes, a stencil and a sentiment stamp.

How I made this project:-
  • I first of all took out the 3 small panels from the main panel and painted the latter with Imagination Crafts Antique Pink paint. I left it to dry once and then gave it another coat.
  • I then used a Black Gesso (there are many Companies who do this such as Pebeo, Pentart etc) to paint the three small panels, giving them a couple of coats to make sure both back and front were covered.
  • Once they were all dry, I then used an anti static pad to clean any dust/moisture from one of them and stamped the Relax, Calm, Unwind sentiment on to it in the centre using Versamark sticky ink - I then added some white Embossing powder and heat set it.
  • I took the two remaining panels and placed them side by side and using Crafter's Companion Stick and Spray stuck them to a craft mat as I didn't want them to move.
  • I then used the spray to cover the back of the "Roll With the Waves" stencil from Hunkydory's For the Love of Masks stencil and placed it over the two panels. The spray is temporary but does make sure the stencil/mask won't move whilst I add the paste.
  • I then took the Purple and Light Blue Glitz Craft pastes and using the palette knife that comes with them, scraped it through the mask until I was happy with the effect. I then carefully took the mask off the two panels and cleaned it.
  • I did look to see if the 3rd one with the sentiment looked ok, but thought it would be better if it matched the others, so took some masking tape and placed it over the sentiment (looking back on it, I think I would now put it on the mask itself) and added some more Glitz Craft pastes.
  • I removed the stencil and again cleaned it, I then took the masking tape away and was quite pleased with the effect.
  • I added them to the panel and must admit it turned out a lot better than I thought it would.
