Have a Great Day! abstract flower on stencilled background 5"card
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's latest handmade card is a quick and easy, bright and cheerful 5" card that can be used for Birthdays and any other occasions too!
How I made this card:-
- The card I used is a white 5" square card (could be from Hunkydory or Create & Craft)
- I first of all coloured a piece of white cardstock (Rare Earth or Hunkydory) using Simon Hurley dye ink pads (Clear Skies and Remember Me which are blue), Rare Earth's Pineapple Crush (Yellow), Raspberry Fizz (red) and Apricot Dream (orange) blending them in as much as possible using the Brick stencil from Thirsty Brush.
- I then used the same colours but only what was left on the daubers to colour some more white card.
- I cut out a scalloped edge square using the 3rd largest die in one of the Creative Expressions sets (this has a pin dot detail along the scallops) with the darker piece of card.
- Using the largest straight edged die from the same collection, I cut another square out in black card and stuck them together using PVA glue.
- I then used one of the abstract flowers dies from Lynda Chapman's collection and cut the main flower out in the paler of the blended card and then the mat layer out in black and again stuck them together, making sure that the petals didn't have any glue on them.
- I stuck the main panel on to the front of a 5" white card and then the flower in the left hand corner.
- I had previously used a rainbow selection of alcohol inks on a dauber to create a background on some transparent Yupo paper and thought it would go well with this card and so I stamped the Have a Great Day sentiment (I think it is from Hunkydory) on to some white card using Jet Black Altenew ink, cut round it and stuck it to the Yupo paper and then cut around that .
- I added some foam tape to the back and stuck it in the bottom right hand corner.
- Finally, I added a single drop of Black Nuvo drops to the centre of the flower.
