Let's Celebrate... Butterfly on tree bark background A6 card

Let's Celebrate... Butterfly on tree bark background A6 card Hi Craft addicts! I really enjoyed making this card as it combines backgrounds I have created myself using Alcohol inks or Tim Holtz Distress Crayons with stamps and dies... How I made this card- I had coloured a piece of card using bright coloured Alcohol inks (or watercolours) and decided that I would use it to make one of the Butterflies in the Butterfly Embellishment Die set from The Paper Boutique (Creative Crafting World) and so cut out the body/wings in it and then the Antennae and mat layer in black card and stuck them together using PVA Glue. I then added some Versamark sticky ink to it and heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder to give it both a sheen and more stability. I had also coloured a piece of white card with brown shades of Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and thought that if I stamped the tree rings/bark image (from the Back to Nature Backgrounds For The Love of Stamps set) over it ...

Vintage Airplane A6 card with ATC style topper/fridge magnet

Vintage Airplane A6 card with ATC style topper/fridge magnet Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is something slightly different as I had made this ATC style coin (my 2nd attempt) and thought it would great as part of this A6 card using the Sharon Callis stamp. How I made this card- This is made using various stages - the first being making the ATC style coin topper. I first of all used White Gesso to cover it and let it dry between each coat. I then took some Lavender Blue & Blue Parakeet (it is Green) Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polishes and created the sea/sky effect. I then inked just the pilot part of the Airplane stamp (from Sharon Callis) using Black Amalgam Gina K ink and placed the MDF coin over it - I wasn't too concerned that it wasn't too distinct as I think it gives it a "ghostly" effect. I used the same ink to cover the whole of the stamp (it is slightly smaller than A6) and placed a piece of A6 White card over it and used my hand to make sure...

Time to Sparkle... fairies Once Upon a Twilight tag and card

Time to Sparkle... fairies Once Upon a Twilight tag and card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a Fairy themed 6" card which I have made using the Once Upon a Twilight cardmaking kit from Hunkydory. How I made this card- This is made using various stages - the first being creating the background for both the tag and main topper. The former was using Red, Blues and Purples Sparkle inks from Crafter's Companion - I just painted them in strips and let each dry before moving on. For the main topper background, I used Jaquard Alcohol inks on a felt dauber (the rectangle ones) and added a few drops of red, green, blue, pink etc to it and "spread" it over a piece of transparent Yupo paper. When it was dry and I was happy with it, I then used a Tattered Lace square (with a fancy edge) to cut a panel out - it measures approx 10cm/4". I then stuck it to some white card and trimmed it to allow a narrow edge around it. I had previously cut out a corner o...

Background papers and how to transform them into printable formats.....

Background papers and how to transform them into printable formats..... Hi Craft addicts! Well, it is Technique Tuesday and so I thought, for a change from cards etc, I would try and show how I created a design on Yupo paper using Tim Holtz Distress Crayons and Creative Expressions Pixie Powders and then transformed them into my own printable papers... How I made them- For the Blue flower design, I first of all added some dark blue (Blueprint Sketch Tim Holtz Distress Crayons) to a 7" x 5" panel of Transparent Yupo paper and blended them one at a time to a flower shape. I then added some paler blue crayons (such as Tumbled Glass) to the spaces and again blended them in - I use my fingers first of all and then a paintbrush with a hint of water to do this... I also added a small amount of green (Mowed Lawn) to various parts of the design. Once I was happy with the design, I then let it dry and took a picture of it using my phone and sent it to my Dropbox account....

Well done... butterflies on striped background black 6" card

Well done... butterflies on striped background black 6" card Hi Craft addicts! I hope you all had a great weekend - it is a bit too stuffy and hot for me but shouldn't complain! - Here my latest handmade card for #MonochromeMonday and I have made it using Paper Boutique dies and Hunkydory backing papers... How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the largest mat layer out of the teal and white striped paper (from Hunkydory) and then the butterfly frame from the reverse side of the same paper using The Paper Boutique Forever Friends Doily Die. I then stuck them together using PVA glue. I also cut out the smaller circle within the set, this time in white card. I already had a circle frame previously cut out in black card and I used that to separate the background layers from the white circle. I had also created the Well Done sentiment topper using teal self adhesive paper on black card and so I decided to add that to the centre of the card using some foam pa...

To the best friend - flowers, butterfly and bee A6 card Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is the 2nd (or maybe 3rd) in a series of projects using the same stamp in different ways.... this time I have used black card and white embossing powder.. How I made this card:- I first of all used Versamark ink to stamp the Bold Blooms - Caroline flower spray onto some Black card (Lynda Chapman's) and then added some True White embossing powder and heat set it.  Using the white pencil from the Chameleon set of crayons,I coloured in the flowers and then used a variety of other colours such as red, blue and green to finish them off. I also added some green to the leaves and smaller blooms. Once I was happy with the colouring, I then cut around it trying to leave an equal border around the image. I then attached it to the front of an A6 white card using PVA glue. I had previously coloured a background using alcohol inks and I cut out the Butterfly from one of the dies from The Pa...

Happy Birthday Floral Spray on Kraft card square card

Happy Birthday Floral Spray on Kraft card square card  Hi Craft addicts! I have been using a variety of techniques/cardstock to create different effects with the same stamp - this is one using White embossing powder on Kraft card.... How I made this card:- I first of all used Versamark ink to stamp the Bold Blooms - Caroline flower spray onto some Kraft card and then added some True White embossing powder and heat set it.  I then used the largest of the Scallop Layered squares die as it has a very decorative edge to it to create a topper. Using the white pencil from the Chameleon set of crayons,I coloured in the flowers. I also added some green and blue to the leaves and smaller blooms. Once I was happy with the colouring, I then attached it (with a PVA glue) to a slightly larger square of dark teal card (I think this is from an old pack of Shades stock from Tattered Lace). Using Versamark again, I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment out onto some Vellum, cover...

With Love & Best Wishes... Sunken galleon on sparkly glitter background A6 card

With Love & Best Wishes... Sunken galleon on sparkly glitter background A6 card Hi Craft addicts! I bought the set of sparkly glitter inks from Spectrum Noir some time ago and hadn't used them so thought I better had and decided to make this under the sea card.... How I made this card:- I first of all cut a piece of white stamping card (either Hunkydory's Ink Me or Rare Earth are great) and taped it on to an old chopping board (far better use for me than actual cooking) using low tack tape. I then took the Spectrum Noir Sparkle inks (Blue Topaz, Aquamarine and Pink Garnet) and painted the entire card. I used a heat gun to dry it but then left it to dry naturally. Once it was totally dry, I flattened it out and trimmed it to 3" x 5" (approx) so that it would fit an A6 card. I then used the Galleon wreck, Anchor and seaweed images from the You're a Treasure stamp collection from For The Love of Stamps and stamped them on to the bottom of the pane...

Leave a Little sparkle...Fairies and dragon silhouettes at twilight 6in card...

Leave a Little sparkle...Fairies and dragon silhouettes at twilight   6in card.. Hi Craft addicts! I am so honoured to have been approached by Hunkydory who asked me if I would be interested in making some projects from their products and of course I said yes! - Here is the 1st one I made (It isn't the best but have so many other options in the Once Upon a Twilight set (you can buy it through the link in the title).. How I made this card:- I wanted to try and actually use one of the two Adorable Scorable cardstock you get in each pack and so I measured it against the front of a 6" black card and trimmed it using my Cutterpillar so it fitted. I then stuck it to the front and then trimmed it further so that it was flush with all edges. I wanted to use the rest of the card, and so I cut around the leaves (or is it part of Jack's Beanstalk?) and attached it to the right hand side of the card using PVA glue. I also cut around the Fairy (using a Craft knife/scalp...
