Make a Wish .sunset hand coloured 7x5in cream card - Day 271 of my 365 day challenge

Make a Wish .sunset hand coloured 7x5in cream card -
Day 271 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

I am really pleased with the way this sunset has turned out - using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours - they are really rich and vibrant along with some stamps from Card-io and a Tattered Lace die.

How I made this card:-

  • I coloured a piece of white linen effect card (the back of a card I didn't use) using various Kuretake Gamsai Tambi paints - mainly black, reds, orange, yellow and green trying to create an atmospheric sunset.
  • I love the effect that the linen effect card creates as it gives a textured feel to it and then once it was dry, the space at the top where I didn't totally cover it in paint looks like stars!
  • It is best to leave it to dry naturally as the card doesn't bend so much and so once it was, I edged it with a black marker and then attached it to some more white linen effect card which I also edged in black.
  • I then used some stamps from Card-io (I have had them for ages) to stamp the mountains where the 2nd lot of black paint was, using Onyx Black Versafine ink.
  • I also added a couple of different rabbits and the deer again using the same ink on the grass area.
  • I felt that it needed something extra so I cut out the fence and pheasant in black card, snipped the latter off the top of the fence and once I had glued the whole panel on to a cream/ivory Pearlescent 7" x 5" card, attached the fence first to the bottom left hand corner using a PVA glue and then added the pheasant on the right hand side.
  • Finally, I stamped the Make a Wish sentiment out on to some black card using Versamagic ink (first of all using an anti-static pad to rub over it) and then added some white embossing powder and heat set it.
  • I then trimmed it to the right size and then added it to the top right hand corner using foam pads.

And there you are - a homemade/handmade card that is made using only a few products but would be lovely to send to someone to say you are thinking of them...
