Hello Sloth on a tree shrink plastic A7 card - Day 246 of my 365 day challenge

Hello Sloth on a tree shrink plastic A7 card -
Day 246 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

Today's card for my challenge is one using a hand coloured background I made using Yupo paper, a stamp from Sweet Dixie, Shrink plastic and a Tattered Lace Die (amongst other things..)

How I made this card:-

  • I first of all stamped out the Sloth (from Sweet Dixie) on to the rough side of a sheet of Shrink Plastic using Black Stazon as you need it to dry quickly so you can colour it in.
  • Once it was dry, I coloured it using shades of brown and green alcohol markers again leaving it to dry for a bit before cutting round it.
  • I then used my heat gun to shrink it down and once it had stopped curling, I bashed it with the top of my ink pad (I must admit I still haven't quite got the hang of using Shrink Plastic but must keep on at it!!).
  • I left it to cool down and started using some Spectra's Bleeding Art Tissue - this time adding various colours to a glass mat (spritzing some water on it first, laying the tissue down on it and then picking the colours up on the Yupo Paper.
  • I used a tissue paper to remove some of the colour as I wanted a faded background and then, once it was dry, cut it out using the Nested Rectangle Scalloped edge Tattered Lace die.
  • I used Gina K Connect Glue to attach it to some Hunkydory Green Flexiweight card - I used that glue as I didn't want the paper to be soaked in a wet glue too much.
  • I edged the panel with a black alcohol marker and then added it to a limey/lemony A6 Adorable Scorable card from Hunkydory this time with Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue.
  • Using Parrot Altenew ink, I stamped the Hello sentiment (from Hero Arts) directly on to a pre cut circle (I placed the card on to the stamp rather than the usual way) and added it to the top left hand corner with some thin foam pads.
  • Finally, I used some thicker foam pads to add the sloth Shrink Plastic topper to the bottom right hand corner.

And there you are card that would be great to give to someone to say Hello - both the Sloth and and the background would be different every time.
