Happy birthday - dancing Salsa couple in silhouette 7x5in card -  Day 272 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a very simple but stylish handmade card using just some Tattered Lace dies, some Mirri card and a birthday sentiment. How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the dancing Salsa couple (a Tattered Lace die)  and then the Trellis Arch (again a Tattered Lace die) both in black card. I then stuck the couple on to some Matt Gold Mirri card (either Hunkydory or Kanban) using a PVA glue. I used Midas Touch sticky dots to attach the Trellis arch on to some Gold Mirri card and trimmed it so there was only a narrow border around it. I again used some PVA glue to stick it to the front of a 7" x 5" black pearlescent card, placing it towards the top of the card as I wanted to have the sentiment at the bottom (well I did try various places but ended up thinking it looked better there). Using foam pads, I added the dancing couple to...

Make a Wish .sunset hand coloured 7x5in cream card - Day 271 of my 365 day challenge

Make a Wish .sunset hand coloured 7x5in cream card -  Day 271 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I am really pleased with the way this sunset has turned out - using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours - they are really rich and vibrant along with some stamps from Card-io and a Tattered Lace die. How I made this card:- I coloured a piece of white linen effect card (the back of a card I didn't use) using various Kuretake Gamsai Tambi paints - mainly black, reds, orange, yellow and green trying to create an atmospheric sunset. I love the effect that the linen effect card creates as it gives a textured feel to it and then once it was dry, the space at the top where I didn't totally cover it in paint looks like stars! It is best to leave it to dry naturally as the card doesn't bend so much and so once it was, I edged it with a black marker and then attached it to some more white linen effect card which I also edged in black. I then used some stamps from ...

Thinking of you Lilies in a watering can square card - Day 270 of my 365 day challenge

Thinking of you Lilies in a watering can square card -  Day 270 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card (Day 270 of my 365 day challenge) is one I made using a pre printed image from Chameleon Note cards and some watercolours. How I made this card:- I took the pre printed A6 Lilies in a Watering Can topper from Chameleon's Note cards and coloured it in using a variety of products -  The watering can was coloured in using Grey shades of Prism markers deciding where the shading should be and leaving the central part of it lighter to make it more 3 dimensional. I then coloured the lilies and leaves using pink and green markers again trying to give them a sense of dimension. Once I was happy with the colouring in, I then took some Creata Bleeding Art tissue and placed blues and green sheets (having torn them into strips first) on a glass mat and added some water to them and then used a paint brush to create the background. Once the sky and grass ...

Just to say... church in silhouette yellow, gold and black square card - Day 269 of my 365 day challenge

Just to say... church in silhouette yellow, gold and black square card Day 269 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card is a very simple but I think, effective square card just using a Tattered Lace die and some plain cardstock. How I made this card:- I cut out the church die (Serenity set from Tattered Lace Dies) in yellow/cream linen effect cardstock -there are two dies in the set and you need to cut out both either together (if you tape them down so they don't move). I then stuck it to some black card (Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) and trimmed the top of the oval off to give it a different effect.  I attached that to some gold Mirri card allowing a narrow border around it and then stuck it to another larger square layer of black card.  Before gluing it to a 6" Cream/Ivory Pearlescent card, I stamped the Just to Say sentiment from one of the sentiments collection from For the Love of Stamps on to the black card, having...

Pugs & Kisses cute dogs square card (hand coloured) - Day 268 of my 365 day challenge

Pugs & Kisses cute dogs square card (hand coloured) -  Day 268 of my 365 day challenge HI Craft addicts! I had great fun making this Pugs & Kisses cut dog themed card using some stamps and dies along with some watercolour paints! How I made this card:- I first of all cut out the Nested Beads Essential Circle die in white card and painted the grass and sky on it using Kuretake Watercolour paints (the green box). I put it to one side to dry and then stamped out 2 of the cute pooches from the It's Pawty Time set of stamps from Time for Tea Designs using Versafine Onyx Black ink.  As this ink doesn't like alcohol markers straight away, I did leave it overnight to dry properly. I then coloured them in with brown alcohol markers (for the one on the left) and Chameleon pencils for the one on the right. I thought the pencils would give a more furry effect! I also stamped out the dog bowl and bone twice onto white card and added some shading to them usin...

Japanese Lady behind screen A4 picture frame - Day 267 of my 365 day challenge

Japanese Lady behind screen A4 picture frame -  Day 267 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! I have to say that I am so pleased with the way this project has turned out - one of my successes if I say so myself... I have used an A4 picture frame to create this stylish home decor product! How I made this project:- I had cut out the Japanese Geisha Woman (from Tattered Lace) ages ago in black card and had always wondered what to do with her and suddenly had this idea... I first of all took an A4 sheet of Orange Create & Craft's Citrus Burst Linen card from their Core collection and made sure that it fitted this A4 Certificate Picture frame (which I got on Ebay). I then cut out the Trellis Background die (from Tattered Lace) in black card (from Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) (there are 2 dies - a background and the main trellis) and placed it over a piece of vellum/parchment and stuck it down around the edges and few of the stars (where it wouldn't s...

Just to say... happy birthday butterflies z-fold card - Day 266 of my 365 day challenge

Just to say... happy birthday butterflies z-fold card -  Day 266 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! Today's card is a Z-fold Birthday card using butterflies as the main focal point from Memory Box, Heffy Doodle and For The Love of Stamps... How I made this card:- I cut out the Butterfly trio (from a Memory Box die) in black card (from Lynda Chapman's World of Paper) and attached it to a piece of silver (or gold) Matte  Mirri card. I then made a Z-fold card (130mm) by folding the front back on itself and used my bone folder to smooth the crease down. I must admit that I made a mistake with the next bit but think I sorted it out... I had stamped the Just to say sentiment (from For The Love of Stamps) out directly on to the card but it smudged, so to save it, I added some wide Ultra Strong red liner tape over it and then placed some gold holographic foil (from Thermaweb) over it and burnished it to fix it. Once that was done, I stamped the same sentiment...

Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card - Day 265 of my 365 day challenge

Relax, Calm Unwind 6in black pearlescent card -  Day 265 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! The rain has finally stopped and so I have made this simple but effective card using stamps and dies... How I made this card:- I used one of Tattered Lace Floral Wreath dies to cut out the main topper in white card. I then coloured it with various shades of green alcohol markers and when I was happy with it, I stuck it to some Gold Mirri Card (approximately 3" square) and then using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue (or Gina K's Connect glue) I attached it to the front of a 6" black pearlescent card which is part of the Core Collection from Create & Craft so it formed a diamond shape. Using Orange, Red and Yellow Bleeding Art Tissue, I coloured some card and when it was dry I used a Tattered Lace Nested Beads Essential Circle Dies to die cut a circle. I used the Relax, Calm and Unwind sentiment from Thirsty Brush & Co to stamp it on to the circle using Versa...

Thank you for your friendship -Poppies square card - Day 263 of my 365 day challenge

Thank you for your friendship -Poppies square card -  Day 263 of my 365 day challenge Hi Craft addicts! This card (for day 263 of my 365 day challenge) has been made using my watercolour paints and a really pretty image from Prism (Hunkydory).... How I made this card:- I first of all used my mini score board to score the bottom and right hand side of a 6" cream pearlescent card (from Create & Craft) - I did it from the inside of the card so there was a raised surface when looking at the card. I then took one sheet of the poppies from Vol 3 (I think) of Hunkydory's Prism Pad (to go with their alcohol markers) and firstly painted the flowers in red using Altenew's Watercolour paints. Once I had done that, I used a mix of the green paints to paint over the stalks. I used a mix of blues and greens to paint the sky and grass, trying to give the impression of shading. I have SO much to learn but am enjoying learning... I then edged it with a black alcohol ...
