To my Little Monster - Triple Aperture DL card (could be for Halloween) - Day 291 of my 366 day challenge
To my Little Monster - Halloween Aperture DL card -
Day 291 of my 366 day challenge
HI Craft addicts!
Got myself a bit muddled with my challenge - it is only day 291 of my challenge and this time it is another Halloween card - this time a DL aperture card. Once again I have used the Hunkydory "Halloween" stamps set.
How I made the toppers:-
- I first of all stamped the "Little Monsters" from the "Halloween" stamp collection on to different kinds of card - one normal stamping card and the other linen effect card (you can definitely see which is which) using Versafine "Onyx Black" stamp pad.
- I coloured the "Dracula" (the one on the left) using a black alcohol marker and a coloured pencil for his face. I used just the "black" pencil for both of the others as I wanted to have a different texture feel to them. I then used "Yellow", "Orange" and "Pink" for their faces etc.
- I also stamped the two "pumpkins" and again used the coloured pencils to colour them in. I then fussy cut them all out until I was ready to make the card.
- I used one of the triple aperture DL cards from Hunkydory and took the apertures out and coloured them in using different shades of "Blue", "Green" and "Red" Distress/Dye based inks and removed the main circles to use another time.
- I then coloured the front of the card with the same colours, making sure that the inside was protected. I tore a piece of card and masked off various sections so the colours mirrored the background.
- I then used a tape pen and placed them through the apertures so they were in the right place (not sticking them down fully until I was happy that they were).
- Using some foam pads, I attached each of the mini toppers so that when the card was closed they still popped out.
- I then stamped 2 of the "cobwebs" on each of the top corners and a couple of the "bats" as well. I also stamped the sentiment "To my Little Monster" towards the bottom of the card and glued the 2 "Pumpkins" either side of it.
- Finally, I used a black Micron Fineliner pen to add some faux stitching to the edge and some more of the bats to the inside of the card. also drew a small spider on the outside of one of the apertures.
And there you are - a fun card made using the "Halloween" stamps from Hunkydory along with some dye based inks for using on the card and background...
