Happy Halloween Haunted House shaped card - Day 300 of my 366 day challenge
Happy Halloween Haunted House shaped card -
Day 300 of my 366 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
I have had SO much fun making this card for "Halloween" - I have used an amended shaped stepper card along with the new stamps from Hunkydory.
How I made the background:-
- I took a white tag (from Craftwork Cards) and coloured the sky using Generation INX blue shades ink pads - I used A02, B01 and N02 to graduate the sky,
- Once I had down a very light covering, I used a circle mask to cover the area i wanted to be where the moon was and coloured the rest gradually getting darker towards the top - I also added some "Tuxedo Black" to the very top to give it more atmosphere - I also added some more ink very lightly over the moon to give the impression of some clouds.
- I then repeated the process with some "Green" shades - again from Generation INX but also using some Tim Holtz pads too! I also added some black to darken it.
- I then left it to dry overnight as the tag was still "wet" from the inks.
How I made the topper:-
- I used the "Haunted House" stamp from the "Halloween" stamp collectiion from Hunkydory and stamped it on to some stamping card and coloured it in using the Rembrandt Polycolor Hi Quality colouring pencils - I used "Brown" shades to fill in the house and some heavier lines to give it some dimension. I also added some "Orangey Yellow" to the windows for light.
- I then fussy cut it out and edged it with a black alcohol marker.
- I also stamped out the cute "Dracula" and again coloured him in using the same pencils. I also cut it him out as near as possible to the lines.
- I had cut out the "Tree" in white card so coloured it "Black" using an alcohol marker.
- I added the "Haunted House" to the tag using foam pads along the "horizon" and then used some Cosmic Shimmer PVA Glue to attach the tree to the left hand side.
- I also stamped a couple of the little "bats" included in the set using Versafine "Onyx Black" and two of the "black cats" beside the tree.
- I took one of the pre-cut label tags from the Craftwork Cards "Stamping Must haves" set and coloured it using the blues and greens and stamped the "Happy Halloween" sentiment on to it.
How I made the card up:-
- I still can't my head around how to use a "stepper" card - but did use one for this card and coloured it the front in using the same inks as the topper - checking all the time that it more or less matched. I also allowed the inks to colour the inside of the card as it added a bit more interest to it.
- I also let that dry - once it was I stamped the "tree" on the let hand corner, the "Spider's Web" on the top and bottom right hand corners.
- I then added the topper to the card trying to match the shapes and colours using foam pads.
- The "Dracula" was placed to the right of the tag and the "Happy Halloween" sentiment just underneath the house and over the tree.
And there you are - a fun card made using the "Halloween" stamps from Hunkydory along with some dye based inks for using on the card and background...
