Wishing you a Happy Birthday family scene in silhouette DL card - 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a DL card using watercolour paints and a rubber stamp.
- I took a panel of white cardstock approximately 1.5" smaller than the front of a DL card and painted it with Be Creative Metallic watercolour paints to create a landscape background - green shades for the bottom half and blue ones for the sky.
- I then let it dry for a bit and took the family scene rubber stamp from Creative Expressions Designer Boutique collection, inked it with some of Gina K's Obsidian Black ink and placed the cardstock directly on top of it rather than putting it first on an acrylic block.
- As it wasn't totally covered I used a Black Alcohol marker to fill some of it in.
- I then rounded the corners of the panel and stuck it with a tape pen to some blue cardstock which has a linen effect on one side - Crafter's Companion, American Crafts. Sizzix all produce a variety of sizes and colours.
- I fussy cut around it and this time used PVA glue to attach it.
- I then rounded the corners of the white DL card and stuck the whole panel on to it again using PVA glue.
- I stamped the Wishing you a Happy Birthday sentiment on to some white card again with Gina K ink and cut around it, stuck it to the same blue cardstock and placed it in the middle of the card using foam pads.
