Hello and Someone special 2 different 5" circle handmade cards - 365 day challenge
Hi Craft addicts!
Today's handmade cards have been made from scratch using dies and stamps....
For both cards
- I took the largest scalloped die from Lisa Horton's Nested Scalloped and plain circles collection and cut two of them out in white cardstock.
- I then scored one of them about 3/4" down (or measure it from one of the scallops) and added some red liner tape to it, removed the backing sheet and stuck the two pieces together (making sure they lined up properly).
For the Someone special card
- I created a green background using Cosmic Shimmer pearlescent watercolour inks and after leaving it to dry, cut it out using one of the plain circle dies in the same collection and edged it with a black alcohol marker.
- I then used some of Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock to cut out the bird on a fence (Crafter's Companion's Gemini Secret Garden Die and Stamp range) using one of the smaller plain dies to do so (as the die itself only cuts into the card).
- I had also created a sunrise background again using the Cosmic Shimmer paints and once it had dried, cut it out with the same die and attached it to the silhouette with a dotty tape pen and then stuck it to the middle of the card with a plain tape pen.
- I added the "For Someone Special" sentiment in the middle of the card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink.
- Finally, I added some clear Nuvo Drops in each of the circles around the edge of the silhouette and let them dry.
For the Hello Card
- I had created a background using 3 shades of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks (Walnut Stain etc) and left it to dry.
- Once it was I used one of Spellbinders Petite Picot edge circle dies to cut a circle that was slightly smaller than the handmade card (see above) and attached it to the card using a tape pen.
- I then repeated the process with the topper, this time having created the background with Crafter's Companion Harmony inks (reds, yellows and oranges).
- I used a tape pen (solid glue) to attach the topper to the card and then used the Just Saying Hello stamp from Carnation Crafts collection, and stamped it directly on to the card again using Gina K's Obsidian Black ink.
