Day 10 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts!

So today's challenge is a wall hanging that is also a mini-calendar which I have decorated using For the Love of Stamps collection from Hunkydory.


How I made this wall hanging:-

  • I took some of this check patterned paper (from First Edition I think) which looked like the padded design you can get and covered both sides of the MDF plaque and trimmed it to fit it - you can sand the edges so that it becomes "locked" in..
  • I used a pokey tool to "open the holes" again and threaded some burgundy ribbon through them so you can hang it up.
  • I then took the Cocktails and Wine stamps and stamped the wine bottles a couple of times on to stamping card and coloured them in using purple and grey Zig Clean Color pens - I also stamped the corkscrew and coloured that too using the grey pen. 
  • I added some Wink of Stella clear "varnish" and covered them which will protect them. 
  • I repeated that with the glasses - trying to make the tall ones look like they were filled with a cocktail and the others with white wine! I also used the Wink of Stella on them too.
  • I used the Cheers sentiment around the plaque, stamping it in Onyx Black Versafine ink - along with the Every Hour is a Happy hour one
  • Finally I added the mini calendar on to some red shiny cardstock and glued it to the bottom of the plaque.

And there you are - a really lovely gift that is simple to make but looks good fun.

Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Congratulations stamp and some patterned paper. I must admit i can't remember who produced this patterned paper but think it is Paper Boutique from Creative Crafting World.. I rounded the corners of a 5" white square card and thought I would use it as a tent fold (that is with the fold at the top). I then cut out a piece of this foliage patterned paper so that there was a narrow border left when I placed it on the front of the card. Instead of adding a layer of black card behind it, I edged it with a Black alcohol marker and stuck it on using a tape runner pen - so many companies now do them or you could used  a light layer of PVA glue. I then cut a narrow panel (about 2") of the same paper so that it fitted the card and then stuck it to a slightly wider panel of Lynda Chapman's Black cardstock and stuck that to the card slightly left of the card front. Happy Birthday Bee card - 365 day challenge

Hi Craft addicts! Well today's card is a bright and cheerful one with a bee theme and I hope you will read more as to how it was made! I first of all decided which of the various beautiful designs I wanted to use from the latest Bumblebee Dance paper collection from Creative Crafting World's Paper Boutique range. After a while, I chose the Bee circle topper and the bee background paper to use as i think they are so colourful. Using the topper as a template, I chose a Tattered Lace Scalloped edge die and cut out a circle slightly larger than the topper and attached it using PVA glue. I then used the Rectangle part of the Standalone Dies from Time for Tea and cut it out twice, once in Lynda Chapman's Black card and another one using the Bee paper from the Paper Boutique collection. I took a 6in white card and cut off about 1.5" from the front of it and then used my Hunkydory Scoreboard to score the back part of the card several times. I used PVA glue again to glue the bl...

Merry Christmas to all circle Christmas Card - 365 day challenge

  Hi Craft addicts! Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this one made totally from scratch. I used the largest circle (about 4") Petit Picot edge die from Spellbinders and cut out two pieces of card - the front is Paper Dienamic Metallink A4 card and the back part is Sheena Douglass A4 white willow card. I scored the back part about 3/4" towards the top and married the two pieces together and added some red liner tape, removed the carrier sheet and stuck them to each other. The black frame is cut out of Lynda Chapman's Black card using the Inverted Scallop die from Crafter's Companion Gemini collection and I stuck it to the front of the card using a dotty pen as it allows the glue to only go on places it needs to. I had a scrap piece of red cardstock and I cut the oval bauble (from Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Festive Collection Sparkle Baubles set) and then used silver mirror card to cut out the top part.
