It's been too long Dachshunds in love...DL Kraft card - Day 7 of my 365 day challenge

It's been too long Dachshunds in love...DL Kraft card -
Day 7 of my 365 day challenge

Hi Craft Addicts!

Afternoon folks - today is day 7 of my challenge and this time I have used the Happy Birthday Sausage stamp set from the For the Love of Stamps collection by Hunkydory.

How I made this card:-

  • I got these stamps some time ago and this is the first card I have made with it.. There are the two facing dachshunds as part of the set so I stamped them on to some stamping card using Versafine Onyx Black and whilst they were still dry, used some clear embossing powder to emboss them.
  • I coloured the dogs in using shades of brown alcohol markers trying to give them some different colours to them.
  • I then added the 3 hearts using the tiny heart in the set and stamped them using red Tim Holtz Distress inks. As it is such a small stamp, I just used my finger to stamp them.
  • I cut out two panels (one in card, the other in paper) in white using the Tattered Lace Torn Edge Tall Slim rectangle dies and glued the paper one inside a DL Kraft card.
  • Using some Altnew and Tim Holtz Distress inks, I then coloured the panel so that it looked it was outside (using some torn paper to give clouds and grass effects).
  • Whilst allowing it to dry, I then cut out the dogs and heart and stuck it on to the panel using a tape pen.
  • I then stamped the larger heart on to some more card using Festive Berries Distress Ink and then drew some of the colour in to it using a waterbrush.
  • The string is also one of the stamps and so stamped the cords leading from the dogs' tails and added the hearts using some foam pads.
  • The sentiment is also part of the set and so I stamped it on to pre-cut panel in the Onyx Black Versafine ink and edged it with a brown alcohol marker.
  • Finally I glued the whole panel on to the DL Kraft card and placed the sentiment in the centre of it towards the bottom.
  • I left the insert blank so you can add any message you like.

And there you are - a different kind of card that you could give for Valentine's day - but of course the sentiment could be whatever one you want!
