"For Your Fries Only,..." Happy Birthday 5x7in card

For Your Fries only... Happy birthday 5" x 7" card Hi Craft Addicts! Something different today! I often read or hear people saying that Digital or CD crafting is not really crafting as it is not the same as cutting etc. With this card I hope that I can change people's minds to show that you can actually use them in conjunction with your other forms of card making to make wonderful cards... So...  as you may have seen from other cards on my blog (and on my Pinterest site  too ), I love Craft Artist Professional 2 and often use it to design backgrounds or an actual card rather than using a "physical" one - so here is one I designed from the " At the Movies" by Bloke  digikit from Daisy Trail which I think is a really amusing set of images - it can be bought here    You do need Serif's Craft Artist Professional 2 which is the software programme needed to manipulate and design the card and can be bought here  to design you...

Happy Birthday flower tapestry 7" x 5" card

Happy Birthday 7" x 5" card - Wishing you the happiest of birthdays... Hi Craft Addicts! Well I had planned to do something different for the next blog, but I was trying out various ways of using the Happy Birthday Tapestry die from Tattered Lace (you can buy it here ) and some of the black Adorable Scorable A4 cardstock from the Midnight Moments collection from Hunkydory . I had cut the die out from white card but thought it would stand out more if I added a black version of it too (not easy to see in the photo), so I glued the two together offsetting the white one slightly to give it a slight shadow effect.  When I came back to look at it, I thought it still needed some black card at the back to make it "pop" so glued it (using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue) to some (I use the cardstock from Creative Crafting World as it is just the right weight) and was going to then use a whole sheet of the A4 Adorable Scorable black card but changed my min...

Snow Leopard - Pollyanna Pickering...DL Card

Image
Snow Leopard - image by Pollyanna Pickering DL Card - No message on front Hi Craft addicts! It's been a couple of days since my last post and I thought I better rectify that! Today's card is a lovely image of a Snow Leopard which was drawn by the wonderful wildlife artist Pollyanna Pickering from the Snow and Ice papercrafting kit and the accompanying DVD from Creative Crafting World. This is a DL card and is 300gsm linen card and to make it, I did the following..first of all I added some thin red liner tape (Ultra Strong) about inch from both the top and bottom making sure that the lines were straight! I did this along both front and back of the card.. I then removed the top part of the tape on the top line and spread some silver gilding flakes (the one I have is the Magical Metallic pot from My Craft Studio ) and rubbed it in until I was sure that all the tape had been covered  - I then used the " scourer " to remove any excess flakes a...

Special Day card - Father's Day or Birthday Card

Image
Special Day Card - Father's Day, Birthday or just because.. The " Suits You Sir! " paper pad from Craftwork Cards once again has proved the inspiration behind this 7" (175mm) square card. I used a strip ( 30x175mm ) of the Bowler Hat, Moustache and Pipe paper from the pad and taped it in the centre of the card.  Meanwhile, I used the DoCrafts Cable Knit pattern 6" x 6" embossing folder and embossed some cream linen card and trimmed it slightly on each side. I then placed 5 contrasting squares in a pattern on it using Create and Craft tape runner. (The squares were punched out using the Woodware Large scalloped Punch) and are approximately 4.5cm each. I then added one of the round sentiments ( Special day with yellow tie ) from the Mini Mania Die-cut pad to the central panel. I also edged the panel using a brown Alcohol marker from Spectrum Noir so it stood out a bit. After this, I glued the panel using a wet glue (as there is the debos...

Gift bag for Father's day or birthday "Have a Great Day"

Gift Bag for Father's Day or birthday "Have a Great Day!"  Hi Craft Addicts! Well, as mentioned in a previous post, I thought I would make something other than a card and I think this gift bag would be great to put a present in for Father's Day or even a birthday. I like Kraft card and paper, so have used this bag which I think goes very well with the Paper Pad and Tickets from " Suits You Sir! " from  Craftwork Cards  but am not sure if it is still available.  The bag measures 18x27mm approximately so stuck one of the 6 inch square papers ( moustache, pipe and bowler hat on white ) onto the centre of the bag. Once that was done, I then used some of the tickets that came with the " Suits You Sir" kit and stuck them above and below it.   I then glued two squares (similar to ones I had punched out before using the large Woodware scallop punch ) in the middle (one of the contrasting designs is better) and then used on...

Travel by Car - I Heart Dad card

Travel by Car - I heart DAD 7" x 5" tent fold card Hi Craft addicts ! Another card here that can be used for any occasion from Father's Day to a dad's birthday this time using a Hunkydory topper from the Magnificent Men kit and a " I heart DAD " sentiment placed on a 7" x 5" card which I have turned on its' side to be a tent fold card. First of all, using one of the " transport " themed topper - " Travel by CAR " from the kit, I matt and layered it on to some white and then black card so that it stood out more.  I then cut out a rectangle (deckle-edged) in a golden coloured Adorable Scorabl e ( 7.5 x 9.5cm ) card. and then added some black and white Greek key style We R Memory Keepers Washi tape in the centre of it and then placed the topper on top. Then cut out a larger scalloped/lacy rectangle ( 10x13cm approx) - think it is a Spellbinders die but could be a Tonic one!! in black 200gsm cardstock...
