Smile... T-shirt A6 card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's card for my 365 day challenge is using an older stamp set from Visible Image and no dies are in sight... I stamped the T-shirt image out on to some white card using Gina K Obsidian Black ink and then added the skull and Smile sentiment to the centre of it again with the same ink. I then used one of Crafter's Companion's Spectrum Noir Tri-blender markers to colour it in. I used one of Hunkydory's punches to add the notched corners to an A6 white card. I trimmed the main panel so that it fitted the front of the card, added skulls to each corner and then rounded the corners with another of their punches and edged it with a Black alcohol marker. I used a blending brush to add some blue shading around the t-shirt. For the card itself, I used an aperture diecut that I hadn't used to add some colour to the front of the card - I used blues and yellows as I thought it would co-ordinate with the main topper. I then used a couple of the Bubble...

Thinking about you lots... poppies 7x5in card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this Poppy themed 7x5in card. I used a Hunkydory Prism punch to round the corners of a 7" x 5" landscape white card (from Paper Boutique) but decided to use it as a tent fold one instead. I then used one of the larger Rectangle Mini Lace dies from Tattered Lace and cut it out in Holographic Mirror card (from Kanban). I took a piece of Willow White card (from Sheena Douglass) and placed it in a stamping platform and then stamped the Poppy image (from Sheena's Tall & Elegant Refined stamp set) a couple of times to get a crisp image using Gina K Black Obsidian ink. I die cut the image using a slightly smaller die from the same Rectangle set and stuck it to the larger panel using a tape pen as I didn't want any glue seeping on to the Mirror card. I attached the completed panel on to the front of the card with some PVA glue, trying to leave a narrow border all the way around it. F...

Especially for you... circle card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card is one I made from scratch using just dies.... I took the largest solid die from Tattered Lace's Filigree Poppy Doily die set and cut two of them in Sheena Douglass's Willow White card. I then scored one of them towards the top and folded it back adding some red liner tape to it, removed the backing sheet and stuck the two together to make a card. I used the next die which is the ornate doily design and again cut it out in white card. I have just noticed in the photo that I didn't take all of the bits out of it - but have done now! One of the scallops got torn, and instead of throwing it away, I trimmed it and then repeated it several times so it looked ok and then added some yellow ink to the scallops to add some colour. I used the next two dies to cut out the ornate circle pattern twice, one in brown card (Crafter's Companion) and the Glitter Euphoria Sparkly card from Lisa Horton. Once I had cut them out, I stuck th...

Boo! Hallowe'en Card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge turned out so much better than I thought it would do! I took a 7" x 5" white card top fold (from Paper Boutique by Creative Crafting World) and used a punch from Hunkydory's Prism range to round the corners (my latest favourite thing to do!). I used dies from Creative Expressions Slimline collection (the two Stitched Oval aperture trio ones) and cut the main one in Lynda Chapman's Black card and then the smaller one in white and placed them on top of each other so the white showed through the holes. I trimmed them both so the white card didn't show and then edged the panel with a black alcohol marker. I had previously created this background using the Summer collection of Ink Lily Glimmer pens (it is a shame you can't see the gold glitter effect they create) and stuck it behind the panel with PVA glue. I then glued it to the front of the 7" x 5" card with PVA glue lea...

Smile... Single poppy circle card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card is one made right from scratch using dies to make the card and all the mats n layers! I first of all used the Filigree Poppy doily die set from Tattered Lace and cut out two of the largest dies to create the card itself. I scored along the top of one of the card using my Adorable Scoreboard from Hunkydory and then added some red liner tape to it, removed the backing and attached the two pieces together making sure that they matched perfectly. I used one of the larger Spellbinders Petit Picot edge circle dies to cut out the main mat using green Metallinks card from Paper Dienamics. I then cut out a slightly smaller layer using a scalloped edged circle die in Lynda Chapman's Black card and then some decreasing circles in white and green card ( both dies and card are from Crafter's Companion). I attached them all to each other using a tape pen as even having 4 layers doesn't actually add much height to the card - bu...

Boo! Witch on broomstick Hallowe'en card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's latest handmade card for my 365 day challenge is this slightly different Hallowe'en 4" card using dies and stencils... I first of all took a 4" white card (from Paper Boutique or Hunkydory) and rounded the corners with a Hunkydory Prism Punch. I then took a piece of Willow White cardstock (from Sheena Douglass) and placed a Woodware abstract design stencil over it and coloured through it with a variety of inks - reds, yellows, blues to create this vibrant background. I cut it down to fit the front of the card leaving a very narrow border around it and then edged it with a black alcohol marker. I stuck it to the card with some PVA glue. Using the Witch, Broom and Bat dies from Tim Holtz's Toil and Trouble set from Sizzix, I cut them out in Lynda Chapman's Black card along with the spider's web from a Tattered Lace die. I used a Crafter's Companion Dotty tape pen to stick them to the background, positioning them first befo...

Happy Birthday... floral background DL card - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's handmade card for my 365 day challenge is a bright and cheerful DL card using just stencils and stamps... I rounded the corners of a DL white card (from either Hunkydory or Paper Boutique) using my Prism punch. I then cut a piece of white stamping card (Willow White from Sheena Douglass) and placed one of the 3 slimline flower stencils from Lisa Horton over it and inked through it using Oranges, Yellows and Red Hybrid inks (a mix of Harmony and Tim Holtz water reactive ink pads), trying to get an ombre effect. I rounded the corners using the same punch, glued it to some brown linen effect card (either Crafter's Companion or Sizzix) using PVA glue and rounded the corners of the brown card too. I then attached it to the front of the card, trying to get an equal border around it and then stamped out the sentiment using a Woodware stamp, Gina K Obsidian Black ink, coloured it with the same inks as used for the background, fussy cut aroun...

Hallowe'en Mini A7 cards - 365 day challenge

Image
Hi Craft addicts!       Today's project are two mini cards I created using dies, stamps and Ink Lily Glimmer pens...        For both cards I used A7 cards from Hunkydory and rounded the corners using a Hunkydory punch. I also used Tonic Studios Rectangle tag die to cut out about 8 pieces in white cardstock and stuck them all together. You can use black card such as Lynda Chapman's (from Creative Crafting World)  The backgrounds are also made the same way for both cards using the Summer collection of Ink Lily Glimmer pens - you can't see how great the sparkle is from the photo unfortunately. I then added some trees and birds in silhouette using a Black fineliner pen and added them to the two A7 cards - one landscape and one portrait. With the former one I trimmed the loop so it fitted the card. Both the Dracula figure and the pumpkin are from the For The Love of Stamps Halloween set that came out last year and so I stamped them on to some wh...
